Still here. . .

So My labor is proving to be a drawn out one, contrax 6-8 minutes apart for 4-6 hours then they stop for a few hours, then the same thing again. I called my OB to cancel the appt I had for tomorrow morning & they had me come in so he could check me. I was afraid they were going to tell me that nothing had changed (I have been 50% effaced, fingertip dilated for 2 weeks) but I am now (since Friday) 2 cm, 75% effaced. So there has been progress with this drawn out labor. He still wants me to call in the moening for an induction appt (when I went in he said, "If you've been having contractions since Sat you should have called in & I would have induced you over the weekend" to which I replied, "I'd rather have labor start on it's own rather than forcing it.") , I plan to "forget" to call for my induction appt. I am really hoping things progress more tonight. We went to the park w/the boys today & did some walking but it started raining on us so we had to cut that short. I have been pacing my living room, but tend to have more contrax whenI sit down & relax on the couch. So I am off to drink some more RRL Tea & watch the one TV channel we actuallt get.

That's great you are progressing though! Sorry it has to be so drawn out!

You may forget to call for your induction but they may not! :LOL When I was going to the doctor they had this nasty habit of tracking me down when I forgot an appointment. Jerks! :LOL

Well, it's the hospital i have to call, not the OB's office. But you're right~ they might just call me. Which is why we turn the ringer off on our phones until we are up each morning, have caller ID & screen our calls on the answering machine! :LOL I am SO tired of people calling to see if "things have started yet" or if the baby is here yet~ like I'm going to forget to call & tell them?

Good luck! Look at it this way - the longer early labor, the shorter active labor. So you may sit down and have the baby fall out! :LOL Seriously, I hope things pick up for you so at least you can stop being bothered by people calling and the stupid OB...

Well, a L&D nurse called this morning from the hospital asking why I didn't show up for my induction. I said, "Oh, I told them I wanted to cancel that b/c I have been having contractions that are 6 minutes apart, sio I want to let things progress on their own" she asked if they were painful (YES!) and if I had had any bloody show (Yes). She then said, "Well, it sounds like you have a better plan than he (my OB) does, hopefully we'll see you in the next day or so."

*A better plan* I like that.

You sound like you are going through the same as me. Sunday I had contractions ALL day. I didn't really time them, but they started shortly after I got up and quit sometime after I went to bed. I hadn't changed at all for about two weeks. Now I can be stretched to a 3 and am 70% effaced. My dh said a 3 isn't that much. And I said, well it's almost a third of the way there and that's a thrid I don't have to do while actually in labor. He just laughed.

Hope you go quickly and have a nice short labor.
