Today's emergency(aka, my dd has a deathwish)

My dd is trying to give me a heart attack! I had just sat down earlier to check my email and MDC. Dh was in the bedroom with ds & dd. Dh & ds were doing something, not noticing that dd had decided to use ds's loft bed as her own personal jungle gym. She was swinging on one of the side bars (she's seen her big brother do it before). All of a sudden I hear a loud noise and her scream! I turned around to see her flat on the floor. I knew exactly what had happened and dh grabbed her up to check her out. I got her from him, sat down with her in my lap to get a good look and when I opened her mouth all I saw was a tiny drop of blood and then....her beautiful front tooth chipped!!!!!

We called the ped dentist and he asked us to meet him at his house. Luckily he lives in my dh's district so no problem finding it. We took her in and he had a pillow laid out for her on the counter. No nerves exposed, thank goodness. Just a chip. Friday he's going to bond it up for her good as new. We're sure she swallowed the part that broke, ds looked all over for it. I'm so glad it wasn't worse!!!

I joke with dh all the time that this kid is gonna be the death of me. She has had more accidents than I can count on two hands!

She only cried for a minute when it first happened. Just fine since.

Dh said that the bed is coming down.

They do that...it's a freaky scary thing.

Willow chipped a couple of teeth. Turns out there was a bigger problem than that...but...I swear she's made my heart skip a few times.

Thanks.

She's been sleeping for a bit now. I think the excitement just exhausted her.

Yeah, it could have been much worse. Thankfully, it wasn't.
When I called my mil she was telling me about a guy she knew whose dd fell and got a fork in the eye! : Her eye healed fine but imagine that fright!

How scary! I'm glad it can be fixed.

I am so glad she was ok! I swear having children is more frightening than I ever imagined!

Honestly don't worry about the tooth, really I know it is hard now but it is fixable!

My dd dived off the couch and chipped a tooth. Two weeks later fell off a chair and knocked the tooth loose. It subsequently was pulled due to an infection that I tried to prevent. Now she is missing a front tooth. I cried when I saw the chip, cried when I saw the gap and now just am glad she is ok! (she is 4 so we agreed to not attempt a false tooth or anything and just wait it out)

best wishes!

HE DIDN'T FALL but maybe this will make you feel better:

For reasons too lengthy to go into, last year on the Wed or Thur before Easter my ods was suspended from school. I was working pt at my church so I took him with me. AFTER stuffing Easter offering envelopes in almost 1000 worship bulletins, he was putting them in the pew racks. My mom dropped off the younger two and it was time to go.

But he had not done the pew racks in the balcony and wanted to FINISH the job. So his brothers and I went up to help him finish. I was in the Northeast corner and from the Southwest corner I hear my youngest say:

HEY MOM!!!! LOOK AT ME!!!! He is straddling the balcony railing . . . two stories up above a slate floor with pews!!!!!

I calmly told him to reach in to the soundboard and get his feet on the ground. Which he did. I feel apart and it took nearly a WEEK for me to be functionaly again.

I have been on medication ever since.

Like I said, hope it makes you feel better!

I am STILL wondering why, in His infinite wisdom, God blessed me with THREE boys!!!!! And a fearless one, pain-tolerant one, and an ULTRA sensitive one!

I'm sorry. I know how that feels. I watched dd1 *try* to jump over a chain that was blocking a driveway. Her toe got caught and she flipped down and landed on the road with her forehead. She never had a chance to put her hands down. That was about 6 years ago and she still has a little scar right in the middle of her forehead.

Oh, jeez!!

Funny, today it doesn't look nearly as bad to me. Actually, just a small chip. Dh was just joking that she looks like a boxer.

I'm going to charge up my camera and do the before/after pics like dh suggested for future when-you-were-little stories!
