on occassion if i'm not in a good state of mind nursing might help me refocus or ground myself on a situation. however, recently i've been feeling sad, angry and frustrated over our current living situation and i'm finding myself more impatient when my 6 wk old dd nurses at night.
i have been sick for over a week, and at night when i'm trying to fall asleep dd will want to nurse repetatively till she falls asleep. i don't mind the actual nursing, but when it switches to just sucking lightly on my nipple it drives me nuts. it actually makes me feel mad. i usually delatch her and let her suck on my pinky because it's that annoying.
help? please?

s mama. I don't have any advice, but do want to note that if you are using lactational ammenorhea (natural child spacing by breastfeeding) you should allow all pacification sucking to be at the breast, to most limit your chance of ovulating.
. the past couple of nights i've just started our bedtime routine earlier so that i am not trying to fall asleep while DD is nursing to sleep. i am still sick with some sort of either horrible sinus infection or allergies. it hurts to even TOUCH my nose
uggh.
With #2, I would just remove my son from my breast and let him lie by my side. He would get fussy and then snuggle to me and fall asleep.
