What no threads with dog questions?? - Page 2

Thanks for the offer, Shannon... I have actually offered to pm you for her several times for a second opinion to her trainer, who we've used for years, but for some reason didn't seem to be helping in this instance. He has actually bit her (the dog, not the trainer ), but that's a long story that involves him being put in a bad situation. I don't think we're more than an hour away from you, but she declined the offer because her dh thinks that they've got it under control. I'd think they might be turning a corner, except I don't get why they passed level one obedience if just the other night she had to chase him across several neighbours yards and he wouldn't respond to the recall. It took her over an hour to catch him.

I just don't have the energy to devote to try to help her with two kids of my own, and I'm not qualified for the mess she's created anyhow. I think the dog is nuts, but also just too freakin' smart for them. Especially BIL, who treats him like a baby (and I KNOW that's part of the issue, no alpha leadership).

I will check out what food they're feed him and see what's in it. He's prone to skin allergies also, but I can't remember the last set of advice she was given.

It's just so frustrating to watch this unfold... he's not my dog and she doesn't take advice well from her big sister.

I know the feeling, I had an aunt who never asked me for advice as her dog's behavior was going down hill. One day at a family BBQ another aunt who trained her dog with me had put the dog on a down stay while everyone ate, she was laying right beside Hav, anyway, the dog broke the stay so my aunt went and gave her a correction and put her back in a down stay--the other aunt shook her head and said "Oooooh I just couldn't do that to my dog" I looked at her and said "and at this moment, where is your dog??" she responded as I knew she would with "locked in the basement" I shook my head and said "I'm guessing Havoc and Amber are happier out with the family than locked in a basement"

My only intact (non-fixed) dog is my female GSD that is in heat & my 2 male GSD's have forgotten that they ARE fixed soooooooo
there's all kinds of Hanky-panky going on....
ugh... well, they're trying to do the Hanky-panky
she stands there for a few minutes until the boys are all in a tizzy then she runs off.... aloof - she's a naughty girl"

Alright I have one. What should I do about a Chiuhuah with Sibling rivalry? We have a female Chihuahau that I found wandering the streets about 6 years ago. I brought her home and looked for her family but never found them so we kept her. She wasn't particularly fond of Ds at birth, but she seems to really like him now. He feeds, pets, and rolls on the floor with her. They seem to get along fine, but every once in awhile I catch her peeing in his bedroom. I don't know why she is doing it but I think it is a jealousy thing. She also poops right next to his outside toys. The rest of the time they get along perfectly, but I still catch her doing this stuff. What's going on, and what can I do about it?

Shannon, does she by chance have a kennel or sleep in your ds's room?? If not (as in if she doesn't already sleep in his room) have her start sleeping and eating in Kearnan's room. Dog's don't like to eliminate in the area they sleep in but especially not in the area they eat in. If you've been keeping her out of his room she may see it as outside her living area.

OMG!!! I just now noticed you're pregnant again!!!! YEAH!!!!!!!! Oh man, you, ST, and Gossamer all at the same time. There's gonna be some mega tears of joy shed on the pregnancy after birth loss board in a few months!!! Woooo Hoooo!
