SAHM successes of the day

Thread Starter
Since we don't have co-workers to brag to about the great projects we've completed, our minor and major successes alike. I would like for us to share them here, because the successes of a SAHM are not appreciated by everyone. So tell me:

What did you do today that you are proud of?

Today I have:
Done one craft project with dd
Cleaned out the hall closet for the first time in months!
Called another mom to set up a play date, even though I am so shy I can't stand it.

Oh, oh, I like these kinds of threads! It's like the one over in the frugality forum!

Um, today we let our butterflies go that we "grew" from caterpillars. It was so fun!

Yesterday I cleaned the girl's room, my closet, my room, my bathroom, and the main floor.

Who's next???

I hung with my sweet little daughter all day, and took good care of my friend's little guy, despite the fact that I am getting over being sick. I was a loving and patient mama all day long.

Didn't do a damn thing else. :LOL

I finally cleaned my disgusting refrigerator...does that count??

Today I got out of bed..... doesn't that sound pathetic? I was sooooo sick yesterday that everytime i moved I had the urge to vomit. WE did play outside most of the day, and I did clean the house.

Well, this is fun! Today, dd slept in until 11:30 am after having gone to bed at 8 pm the night before. And she only woke once at 7am to nurse and then back to sleep. I got some emails returned and phone calls made and appointments made and then we went shopping for sun dresses. It is raining today but I am hopeful for a sunny summer! We talked to both grandmas on the phone, ate lunch, and now she is watching wiggles while I do this. And, drum roll please, she pee'd in the toilet for the first time today! Right now, dh is driving in the driveway, so I am off to look busy!

umm... I didn't strangle my toddler? :LOL

Despite the headstrong, sleep-fighting toddler, I washed & cut up the lettuce, kale, & spinach from our CSA box. I also got some sewing done on a sundress for DD and washed a load of diapers.

I got 4 pages done in DD's 4th year scrapbook, so I remain less than 2 years behind, AND she got to "scrap" too

The very first thing I thought before reading the thread was "All my kids survived the day!! :LOL It has been a reallllly bad parenting day.

But I would say my greatest accomplishment was, after having a huge meltdown with my oldest three, I took them for water ice anyway. I was able to put my exasperation to the side, and we had a nice evening anyway.

This is great -- sometimes at the end of the day, I think, did I do anything today??? But yes, today DH and I took DS to play miniature golf for the first time -- he had such a wonderful time and carried all 3 balls everywhere. We are really sleep deprived over here right now so just reading that other mommies were patient and kind makes me smile and realize that patience and kindness are fabulous successes every day of the year.

We played outside almost all day. The kids and I had a good time. I also got lots of chores done AND made a decent dinner. Now I'm whipped though, off to soon.

Thing I did today:
-did an excercise video
-took a shower
-even did my hair nice!
-went grocery shopping
-put all the groceries away(ie, nothing left in the car, no bags of dry goods laying around the house, etc..)
-did all this while keeping my toddler ds entertained/fed/in clean diapers/unstrangled

All in all a highly productive day

Washed diapers
Grocery Shopped
Dropped ds1 at a playdate with some other boys from our homeschool group
Made dinner
Took a long walk with the dog and three of the kids
Packed for ds1 and dh's camping trip this weekend
Did three loads of laundry
Read countless story books to the younger kids and chapter books to the older kids
Bathed my very dirty, anti bath toddler!

Mopped the kitchen. Went to a moms night out (moms neeeed this!) & worked on a swatch for my babies sweater. Got a load of laundry folded & put away & another one washed (i'll put it away in the morning).

I actually had a full day. Some days I don't accomplish much more than feeding my kids and showering.

this is an awesome thread idea, gives me an idea

I washed and combed my toddler's hair tonight. It's super curly and it was quite ratty...little baby dreads were starting to form. It's thick and such an ordeal to care for, even though my good friend cut it for us a few weeks ago, improving things somewhat.

That was my big accomplishment today!
