today
I am on the look out for cloth napkins and dish towels ( to supplement the ones I am attempting to make that just are not coming out right lol but they are functional)

I walked to the table and for .25 there sat four cloth napkins!! Now of course until I get more two of us will have to share but to actually find what I was looking for on the first try was way too cool!!

so let's have some fun and post your recent or semi -recent scores from your list of "iso/looking for"

I was pricing new window air conditioners and gasping for air. Yesterday I found a really nice one for $25 bucks. The family had moved to a house that had central air and didn't need it anymore--score!

Now I need a chest freezer so I can do my main cooking and baking once a month! Oh yeah, and a double stroller.

sweet!!

I love a good score

( it esp made me feel better after dh and i had to spend more than we wanted to at home depot because our air filter filter has been replaced with three instead of 1 GRR)

oooooh! me! me! I am sooooo with yard sale season!

Today was my first official day on the prowl...

I walked away from the first one empty handed, and felt good about that. Nothing too spectacular.

At the second I scored a beautiful, hand-made braided rug in EC for $40! The woman claimed to have paid $200 for it (it's old...antique i think) a couple years ago. But whatever- we can move our old one that i bought last year at a yard sale for $20 to the basement so we can start making that nicer. This one looks soooo much better, lightens up the room and doesn't look like it came from a yard sale :LOL (she also had a super-cute wooden kitchen for $30... i was so bummed we already have one :LOL )

also 4 awesome bags of excellent fabric for $4, and a pair of cords for me (at different sales). I had to stop myself and go home!

I had the BEST yard saling weekend! I had a bunch of things on my mental -find list and actually managed to find stuff from it. The night before I had bought a newspaper and highlighted the friday yard sales. Then I looked up the addresses I didn't know and planned a circular attack .
I left my house at 9am with only $17 n my purse. After two and half hours of treasure hunting with my dh and dd I came back with these finds:

A complete hair buzzer kit in case $2
Four beautiful cloth napkins 15 cents
A almost new bird cage (getting dd finches) $5
A vegetable chopper thingy (I'm always borrowing my moms) $2
3 gorgeous victorian pictures to decorate my bathroom with $5
A chicken feeder $1
Cookie cutters 25 cents
There must be something else but I'm forgetting

I a two year old crib only used a few times for my mother for $15 which she picked up.

I yardsaling season

a BIKE for dd #1. Dd #2 has grown up to the size of the bike we had, so I've been looking for one that is a "girl color" and style and bigger. Last weekend there was a nice one that was $30, but probably too big and intimidating for dd, who is a petite 6 1/2 year old. Yesterday I found a perfect bike for $5. I also found girls clothes, one a super cute dress for dd.

Last weekend I found little sitting chairs for our family room. It's been GREAT!

~Cool Mist humidifier for dd's room $2
~Some super cute Oililly clothes for the baby for $1

I love garage/yard sales, although I do pile up on a bunch of stuff that I dont need too.

We did great this weekend! My mom got a headboard and footboard for 1 bedroom, a regular steel bed frame for another and a set of 6 steel mixing bowls for me for $10.
I got a breadmaker for $5 which is great because we have been buying bread far too often lately. I also picked up a big floor fan for 50c to help cool this greenhouse of a living room.

An entire boxed set (2 boxes, actually, 8 tapes) of Pee Wee's Playhouse. Yay !!!!! That's the best yard sale score I've had in a long time !

I got a 9 x 12 bound rug with a thick pad that was 2 months old. It still smells like new carpet. I was trying to get her to take $20 for it, and she said, well I paid $500 for it 2 months ago so I cant go lower than $25. I was like, its a deal!! but i wondered, why on earth would she sell it for such a huge loss?

I also got:
a bunch of pool toys for 2.00 ( 4 noodles, a beach ball, and a raft)
a dart board for 1.50
8 pieces of clothing for DD for $3
a calphalon 10inch frying pan for $2

I turned down a down comforter for $10 cause I didnt really need it, but I really wanted it.

I have to say it was a good saling day.

Not too long ago I scored a case of rice milk and just today managed to find about a half-cord of seasoned firewood for the hauling - sent my husband and the wagon right over. That's definitely keep us warm this winter.

Right now I'm in the market for some new cookware. Keeping fingers crossed...

I took some of dd's old clothes to a resale shop to sell. They give you store credit which I planned on using later in the summer. While there, I found three hanna andersson dresses, two pairs of pants, a t shirt, a winter coat, a pair of shorts, and a tank for $35. The winter coat alone would have been more than $50 new. It is all in the size above what she is now so it will all fit her just fine in fall which is the season of all these clothes. I was sooooo stoked I called everyone I knew to tell them. I just love well made clothes but they cost a fortune so resale stores make my day.

I was visiting my mom this weekend, and her town was having an All-Town Garage Sale. She asked me what I wanted, and I told her a baby gate that swings open--never expecting her to find one. She returned an hour later w/ one she bought for $5. I was completely stunned!!
