Adopting a 16yr girl.......need suggestions!

It is not for sure but there is a chance that we will be adopting a 16yr girl. I wanted to ask you mamas of teens for any helpful advice you may have on raising a teenager. As you can see in my siggy I have not raised a teen of my own. I do teach teens and assisted in raising my brother now 17.

Any helpful himts, tips, resources would be greatly appreciated.

I have boys, but...

The older two are 20 and 16, so I know a few things about teens...

The biggest things I can think of are:

Take NOTHING personally. They can be very sensitive and get emotional (upset, angry, sad, etc) at the drop of a hat...

And when they are the LEAST lovable, that is when they need the MOST love and attention.

Be approachable.
