Sick and twisted as it is... I wouldn't have been surprised if this was true. After meeting a woman that was starting labor, who ate handfuls of mushrooms and dropped acid before going down to the lake for her unassisted birth, nothing fazes me. She was sickly looking, and had little knowledge of the birth process.There are many unhealthy individuals out there who could get sucked into some very strange, unsafe situations.
But back to the lighter side of theis thread... :LOL always happy to see a creative mind at work! :LOL

The woman picked a good place for the situation.... probably not so good for her. Athorities were called. There were some very strong mamas in the room. Honestly though it made me want to vomit. Most people would consider me to be pretty out there... but this was beyond any experience that I could even imagine. It wasn't so much the drug use part (I don't agree with that part either!) but with questioning we could see just how uninformed and clueless she really was. That was the really scarey part.

And some people thought it was bad when my MW said that if I wanted to smoke a joint to help move labor along! (I had been stalled at 4cm for more than 24 hours with ruptured membranes and MJ is oxytoxic as well as mind numbing to let go of your brian)

I can see the benifits of MJ in labor... though many may disagree( but I'm fromB.C.!) But ripped out of your mind is another. Especially without some caring supervision. Your own body does a good enough job giving you quite the natural high.

Yeah - that was my MW's thought too. She'd much rather have seen me mellow out a bit and forget about myself and let my body do what my mind was fighting (3rd birth, first HOME birth).

I didnt' end up smoking anything (but I wish I had), I ended up laborign for 49 hours, 13 minutes but was still surrounded by love and not hospital BS!

I hope so too but it would not totally surprise me and if it is I hope we have not missed an opportunity to help educate someone, because some of the replies might have been a little upsetting if she is for real.

There are some nutty 'holistic' types out there!! Sounds bizarre though so hope the truth comes to light one way or another.
