So what was MDC like... - Page 17

Just wanted to say I'm kind of teary reading all this. I'm not an old-timer...just wish that maybe there was a place like the old MDC somewhere or that we could make it like that here... I hope ya'll don't mind my eavesdropping on the reunion. There's a powerful energy that comes from just listening to you talk...even over the 'net.

I'm with you on the energy...just the thought of a place like "it used to be"...makes me giddy...and wistful.

I remember lurking for a long time before ever being able to join--because I only have a hotmail email address. I finally begged Cynthia to let me join with my hotmail account, and was thrilled when she said yes. So I had to work for this posting status!

I always thought Mama G came after me and saw her more as the the new dawn of mothering.

you new guys could always get together and start chatting or make a spin off board. That's the formula

We had amazing energy. I'm so thankful I was part of this group back then. Totally changed who I was in a great way and still pushes me forward to this day. I'm glad it shows.

That kind of defeats the purpose. Smaller and smaller vortici spinning off into the ether........................... :LOL

It would be hard to get a range of experience, too.

it worked for some of us. Most of the time it has. Like every board out there, they all change and grow.

We had no choice but to move at the time. And it was a wonderful place. It was early Mothering all over again. You'd be surprised at how much information still flowed even with a small group.

i think this is kinda what is happening with the current growing pains. people get chastised for not being ap/nfl enough. then that person gets chastised for being judgemental. then there is a ruckus and everyone (er, almost everyone) makes up.

anyway, glad to see you old-timers. it gives me hope that i can also break my mdc addiction one day. :

Back in the day, if you didn't tow the AP/NFL line, you were shunned!! And I liked it that way. It made us examine our own lives and made us want to challenge ourselves to do more. Before I joined here in, oh, 1999/2000 or so, I thought using momma pads was gross!! Now I actually look forward to my period so that I get to have organic hemp on my girl parts. And I would have never considered not vaxing my children. Or organic anything. It was a tough group of loving mommas. Again, I feel honored to be a part of that revolution.

Please please please let's make it like the old days!! If people think we're judgemental, so be it! MDC is supposed to be about certain specific things, not a one-size-fits-all site...and I love the chumminess of you "old timers."

I agree with the momma pads and cups, now I love my Diva Cup, and ditto with vax's and now i'm homeschooling my children. This place also helped me with realizing I had PPD and it not being my fault.

In every aspect of my life, there is something that was influenced by MDC.
