Action alert on Isomil/Nestle "get away from your baby" contests

Please take a few moments to respond to the action alert below from INFACT Canada (Infant Feeding Action Coalition). Tell these manufacturers of formula that breastmilk is the gold standard. Such actions have been shown effective in the past to stop marketing practices that violate the World Health Organization Code on the Marketing of Breast Milk Substitues.

Both contests are only open to US residents, and one of them to mothers with kids under 12 mos. Personally, I just put a lot of gobbletygook info in. I don't really want them to have my info anyways. We are their target market, right?

These promotions have so many things wrong with them, its hard to know where to start. Isomil even provides the winner with child care so you can get away from the "fuss" of having a child for three whole days. Of course, you'll need to leave formula for the sitter!

From INFACT:

"Abbott Ross (Isomil) and Nestlé are both hosting online contests for new mothers to submit their best baby feeding/nurturing tips! What a great chance to share a tip of your own. Can we suggest one word? Breastfeed!

Follow the links below and enter early, enter often! Let's see if we can collectively block both websites. Maybe formula companies will finally get the message - Breast is best!!

Note - if your baby is past about a year, you'll get a message saying your baby is too old!! LOL little do they know. So changing the date on baby's birthday works to get your story submitted.

I just checked out the Nestle one- as much as I despise the Nestle corporation, I really don't see what the big deal is about this particular contest. The winning prizes are household help and the grand prize includes a spa DAY- unlike the Isomil "3 day getaway for two."

I registered for both just telling stories about breastfeeding.
