Hello everyone, I just wanted to share my news with you. I will write an actual birth story and post it later but here is the quickie version for now:
Salvatore (Sal) was born on Saturday May 14th at 7:22 am.
9 pounds, 7 ounces, 21 inches long - YIKES!
100% natural, no intervention vaginal birth
Friday night around 9pm started feeling slight contrax - did not hurt but were consistantly happening 10 minutes apart. Midwife had said to call when they were at this timing because my last labor only lasted three hours. We called and she had us come in. Got to the hospital around midnight. Checked me but could not find my cervix, she felt I was still in early labor so sent me home at 2:30 am. I was pretty pissed because I know I go fast and that things would kick right in.
I was right - went to bed at 3:00am - got up at 4:00 with super strong contrax. Got into the tub where I had to really focus to get through them. Water broke and we were back to the hospital at 5:00am.
got back to the hospital at 5:30am - by the time I got checked I was already 6-7 centimeters dialate. 3 or 4 contrax later and I was fully dialted by 6:00am. I pushed for about an hour and twenty minutes and he was born by 7:20am. Slight tear - just a few stiches. Still can't believe I had a 9 pound + baby. My first one was only 7 pounds
It was crazy fast - very strong and powerful but I managed. Despite how furious it came it went off without a hitch so for that I am very thankful. We are home resting now and learning how to be a family of four now. I forgot how much breastfeeding hurts in the beginning and how hard the first week is. My hormones and emotions are all over the place.
Happy birthing to the rest of the May people. I send you all good vibes. When I write the actual birth story and post it in that section I will let you know. thanks for reading.
