DS has had a flu like virus since Sunday with temps around 101.8 degrees...and still sick. I am so worried about him. But, if I get it, do you know if it will affect the pregnancy? I am feeling out of it now. I am not taking anything for it either...

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

I was wondering the same thing. I am really congested right now with hacking coughs. (nice, eh?) But I figured, women are pregnant for nearly a year; it seems like most illnesses wouldn't be a problem. Just make sure you don't get feverish for a long time. I think 104 for longer than a couple days, isn't good. Tylenol is the only OTC med. okay for pregnancy (without Dr.'s permission).

According to one of my pregnancy books (Pregnancy Childbirth and the Newborn) an oral temparature over 100.4 for three or more days may harm your baby, especially in early pregnancy. It suggests drinking plenty of fluids and taking a lukewarm bath or shower to lower your temperature.

Just wanted to add, ibuprofen and aleve are okay too, except in the last trimester. And if you're really congested, you could use an otc nosespray (just for a few days tho). And I agree you don't want to run a high fever for very long, but otherwise most viral illnesses are pretty harmless, just annoying. (of course, if in doubt, talk to your ob/mw)
Hope your boy feels better soon!
