A Baby story that wasnt terrible

I watched a Baby Story this morning and it actually had some good points!! The mom Went to a breastfeeding support group before her baby was born and they showed quite a few moms wearing slings(OTSBH) and then they showed the mom getting a demo of wearing a sling!! And she talked about how important it was to her to see other moms bfing while they had litel kids9she was having her 2nd) Then when she was in the hospital, wshe did have an epidural, but the whole thing was pretty calm. The checked her and told her she was at 9 cms and there was one lip and the nurse told her to let her know when she got the urge to push. The doctor was a woman and a POC, which was wonderful to see. No one counted!!!! They jsut coached a little but through pushing, but no one was shouting. She was almost flat on her back though Then, after the baby was born, they showed the grandma who had flown in from Ireland and was talking about how important it is to have your family there. COurse then dad is giving the 3 week old baby a bottle. I know it could have been ebm, but the subject never came up.
So, for baby story, I thought it had some good parts.

I need to say that some of "The Baby Stories" took place at the birth center where I had my son. I have only seen one of these episodes but it was amazing. The mama gave birth right in teh rocking chair. Not the norm on that show at all!

I think I've only seen one Baby Story where the mom wasn't lying flat on her back. And they rarely show breastfeeding. It's so depressing.

I saw one, I think last week, where a female attending Dr. was repeatedly telling the woman to not make a peep while she pushed. Hello?! I had to wonder if she'd ever had kids! And I saw a hilarious one where the woman had her foot on a Dr.s head to get leverage to push.

I wish they would do more homebirths. I LOVED the one with the woman who was having the urge to push at home and her husband was freaking out and they got outside and he forgot the keys. He had to run back in and he's like "Oh God, please don't push!" and I think she finally delivers the baby in the emergency room. They didn't show the actual birth. It was one of the most exciting episodes yet!
