Hmm I had to drive to next town for doctors appts and

fill up but other than that

we at lunch at home
I did do a load of laundry but I have a HE3t set it uses 3-5 gallons instead of 30+ depending on the load so I count it as frugal lol
We shined the sink with vinegar
used cloth napkins
Put my yard sale comforter on the bed ( looks soo pretty)
Played some games I got at the yard sale
Made tea
used a cloth I sewed to dust school desks
packed up recycling for ds to take up to libary when he returns his book (its the only place we have and it is about 8 miles so trips need be combined)

Good Thread

Well, let me think...

Breakfast with oatmeal, homemade muffins and homemade bread...Well juice to drink for the kids, milk and apple in the oatmeal... sugar in my coffee... Not perfect but still OK I think.

Used some free sample shampoo to wash my hair.

Cooked 2 cups of dried black beans and froze 4 cups !!!

Drove to the park for a playdate but brough some fruit for snack (and my home made muffins). The others moms brought some chips and cookies for the kids, sorry but still free...

Lunch at home: whole wheat spaghetty with garlic and olive oil, fruit for dessert.

Cloth Diaper for my boy during nap (potty trained but has accident... his diaper was wet so we saved money)

Afternoon in my friend back yard (we walked).

Dinner at home from starch (Rice and black beans pilaf) with my 2 cup of extra black beans and cilantro from the garden. Side dish with homemade bread, homemade eggplant dip and homemade dessert

Movie for the kids and us from Library, Books for the kids and us from Library. Clothes from thrift store or friends for the kids and us.

Clean some hand wash dishes with my home made mix and use half of the required amount for the dishwasher.

Enjoyed the sun, it was free (except for the sun cream but nothing is perfect...)

Yesterday I went "shopping" with a friend to several different stores and bought NOTHING! Friday night I went to the resale shop and got six or seven outfits for the baby for $20. The kids were dieing to see the new Star Wars movie so we bought candy at the dollar store and went to a matine (dh took the three older kids).

Today we ate lunch at my parent's house (free ), cleaned house and organized instead of going out somewhere.

Still loving this thread! I get great ideas from you all!

i used an old gift certificate at Borders and bought Dh a Cookbook for the grill for Father's Day. It only cost me $10 and I did not buy the kids anything!!!!. I took the kids to lunch using two free personal pan pizza coupons for them. Not healthy, but free. I hung some dipes on the line. I bought some dipes on the TP for the new baby- cheaper than new.

Made brunch for friends who dropped by with what we had on hand- omeletes with the eggs we ALWAYS have thanks to "the girls", "monkey bread" - cut up frozen biscuit dough, rolled the chunks in butter and vanilla, then in cinnamon sugar and baked them off in a loaf pan - mmmmmm - and homemade lemonade - from lemon juice since we don't keep fresh lemons around!

Tomorrow is my last day of work!!!!!!!!! Hoping that saves us money in ways we weren't expecting. Know I'll save on gas, wear and tear on the car, some laundry costs (though I dress very casusal for work) 4 weeks and counting till baby

*I made all meals at home and packaged up left-overs for dh's lunch tomorrow (plus enough for kids and I to have lunch too).
*CD'd/BF'd younger son
*Used a gift card to get some coffe (actually got a large for dh/me, and a kid's sized for our boys to share ... all for $1.95)
*The biggest thing, though is that dh and I went through last month's spending (we started writing down what we spend on a white board in the kitchen and adding it up as we go through the month). We noted where we spent more than we should have (sam's and target) and then talked about what to do to dramatically reduce that. Having it in writing is so cool ... I hated seeing it this month because we were way over the budget we set for ourselves, but having the amount and store listed there really let us see exactly where our money was going (we don't write down "bills" like electricity, other utilities, mortgage, but rather our spending ... groceries, target trips, fabric ...). Now I have a better plan for next month!
*Oh, I planned out this week's meals and went shopping and spent a fraction of what I usually do ... I have dinner for all week (through Saturday night), which 99% of the time includes lunch for dh.

Tomorrow I hope to get a batch of bread in the bread machine and some yogurt a'culturing.

ETA: Totally forgot, I used my Diva cup (totally ROCKS! ) and a cloth liner.

I'm afraid May wasn't a very frugal month . . . I went to visit friends and family. BUT, we took the train, which was cheaper and ate most meals at people's homes, and cd'd except on the train. But now we have to be SUPER frugal to make up for the fact that dh drove to meet me for part of the trip and spent a lot on gas and food. And there were STORES inthe towns we were in so I bought some new clothes

So . . bought all the food I'll need for dh's brother's visit this weekend (he's 6'8" so that's a lot of food), didn't buy any extra baby stuff, walked to mom's group this morning with ds in second hand backpack carrier and brought cloth diapers, made cream of wheat for ds instead of commercial baby cereal and mixed with home made pears, had lunch at home, bfed and cd's as usual, am getting ready to plant a veggie garden and will probably bake bread today if ds co-operates.

Oh, and for dh's birthday I'm making him a coupon book for massages, home baked pies, etc. instead of buying him a gift.

I love this thread too..

we've not been very frugal this week. Ds is in a basketball camp ~but great for him physically and emotionally~we didn't play sports when i was growing up so I want him to...oh but he does take free karate one day per week and he goes tonight. Yesterday went to orientation at the MDO I'll be workign at so I made some money there. Deposited quite a bit into savings from our big 3 day yard sale we had last week. It was great and freed up quite a bit of space in our house. What didn't sellw ent to freecycle. My kids don't even miss all that stuff. Ran errands and paid bills today. Am going to sit down and track my spending. I've never done that. My dh went to the grocery with me last night. He never goes and I knew we'd go over budget just by him being there. We were over budget by $50.00. And I"m glad he went and knows it's all his stuff that caused us to go over. He got all this processed food and wouldn't let me get my vice...dr pepper. We ahve tea and water at home. HMPH... Dog food was on sale in a big way so we could have not stocked up on that extra bag which was 19.00 but that's a great price compared with 30.00 (which we're realizing now we can't afford). We ate out today at lunch but to the tune of 5.00 for me and two boys. Yay the $1 menu at Wendy's...lol. Cded ds and he had nakey time too. He's pting and not wearing training pants just his diapers or underwear. Ordered pics through snapfish and got an amazing price on 100 pics for 11.00. All my pics from Christmas through now. Searched google and found a free shipping deal for snapfish. Having spaghetti for dinner with salad so planned that meal and water to drink. Have a wonderful weekend ladies.

not frugal this week either

had to buy dh some new work clothes and his size you just can't find at yard sales or consignment stores
Those that wear those usually wear them out until they can wear no more ..
and they are always $$$ even with discounts and sales *sigh*
And having to drive back and forth to next town over for therapies with current gas prices ( but they are not available here so ..)

Got some clothes for me from a mama here for a great price!

Made breakfast, lunch, dinner here

Took snacks when we were "out and about"

Of course cloth diapers and breastfeeding

:

The BEST is that one of my best friends bought a Baby Trekker today at a resale shop for $2.70!!! It's brand new! I'm so happy for her that I have to brag!

This is fun! Though I'm not sure how frugal I've been today. Let's see:

*breastfed dd
*found food for dh to take to work
*wore dirty jeans one more day before washing (is that frugal or lazy? lol)
*dressed dd in a garage-sale outfit I got her last week
*brought snack to work (though it's a naughty snack in a bag from store)
*brought water to work (to avoid buying bottles)
*am planning what to donate to mom's garage sale tomorrow (technically not frugal, but it helps with clutter and earns me some cash)

Not too great, but reading y'alls ideas helps me get better each day!

I was invited to a child's bday party and decided to check out Marshall's. I've never been there. It is just like Ross and I found the little one year old three great, new, hardback lift and flap books for under $10 total. I was proud of myself for staying away from the expensive (but really, really fun) toy stores in town.

I had the ultamate revenge on some crapy closet doors. They were these horrible wood slide things that made this nasty grating noise when you opened them. And then our closets are tiny to begin with so seeing half of the closet at one time is more than annoying.

I finally took out the screwdriver and took the blasted things down, track and all. Put up a wooden dowel and a nice home-made curtain. Then I got out the saw and sawed, sanded, and primed the chuncks. Tomorrow I will enamel them and assemble for some waaaaay cool closet shelves that I have been wanting forever. AAaaaah, revenge is sweet!

Today has been only minorly frugal (Bought lunch for mom and my aunt and DH and I as a thank-you after my aunt took us to the historical home parade for free since she works for the society that runs it, so I suppose it evens out in the end...) but yesterday was fantastic!

Spent the morning yard saling, and bought and entire bag full of baby clothes (43 outfits total) for $30. I also found some maternity clothes for me that I can wear to work and got 3 pairs of pants, one dress and 7 shirts for $30. Plus, I got a changing pad and cover for the freecycled changing table I got for $2 at the yard sale, and so went home and cancelled my internet order for $16 to get the exact same thing. On the way out, I found a white dresser for the baby, and the lady gave me a deal on it ($10) and the paint to give it (and the freecycle changing table) a new coat of paint was given to me by a neighbor.

Thawed out a chicken (bought on sale) for DH and me and my mom for dinner and went to see Hitchhikers Guide at the $2 theater with buy-one, get-one coupons. Then we came home and opened the windows and turned the fans on instead of the A/C.
