How do you attend appts. for you? - Page 3

Took DS to the chiro with me on tuesday. The stroller was my hero! He will sit in it and read a book or play with a toy that we usually save for those times. I also try to plan appt around snack time so he can have a portable snack while we have to wait. I cannot carry him around because of my back so we use the stroller when necessary. He seems to enjoy riding.

Last month he went with me to the orthopaedist. I had to get xrays and that was very scary for meto have to leave him around the corner while i got them, but there was a female tech out there.I didnt know they were going to do xrays. ugh. I didnt plan on telling that to anyone.

then we had to go back over to the ortho's office and it was at least a half an hour wait if not longer. I took a mini bottle of bubbles. that was a lot of fun actually.

took him last week to get fitted for orthotics and then back to pick them up. He was a little crazy but nothing got broken and we survived.

My sister is out of school so sometimes she can help when she is not working.

I save haircuts for evenings.

I once had jury duty and was no longer bfing- that was a hard situation and found a babysitter the night before.

Wish i could help you all out.

I trade babysitting with my neighbor across the street whenever she or I have appointments. The neighbor's daughter and DS #1 get along really well. I have taken the baby with me to the doctor's office before and the nurses were fighting over who got to hold him while I was being checked out for an ear infection.

DD I take everywhere and usually my mom sits for DS if need be...I have to check with her before I schedule anything and work around her activities, but it's worked well so far (we live close, which is a huge help!!)

I'm very lucky in that my PCP and chiro have evening appointments; I go after DH is home and we've had dinner. Anything else -- midwife, specialists, whatever -- I bring her with me.

I do enjoy reading a leisurely magazine in the waiting room alone, though -- never thought that'd happen!

I call up my babysitting co-op and send her to a playdate with one of her friends from there. It's free, and she loves it.
