I just wanted to encourage you to pursue it-hospital birth is a definite ugly thing....also kudos to you for admitting that here when so many mamas (not any of the previous posters ) could be judgemental about it!

Hey, there's a thread around here somewhere full of stories from mamas who gave birth in the hospital and then decided to homebirth for subsequent births. I told my own story there. It might be illuminating if you checked it out.

Whenever somene tries to tell me that hospita; birth is safer than homebirth I recommend they read Hard Labor by Susan Diamond. It's absolutely material and it will forever change your perception of the hospital labor ward as a "safe" place.
