you know, sometimes i realize how odd conversations may be if you don't hang out there. sometimes i clarify what the joke is in a post so that people know what is up. the only way to know the jokes is to a) hang out or b) ask.

I think if the forum is split up it should definitely only be into two categories (a stocking/show off board and a questions board makes the most sense to me) because the more there are the more confusing it becomes and less likely people will post on topic - not intentionally but just because it will be confusing what type of post goes where.

oh i know... Ive many times gone searching through the forums trying to figure out wth someone in TAO was talking about, lol. I dont like asking tho cause typically its been asked more than once (ie... gay sigs, LOL)... so i just go searching. anyway, i seriously was just trying to be funny... im not so good at it sometimes

It was a misunderstanding. The thread was understandably interpreted to be a parody of the diapering forum.

I actually just said a prayer that no one would hop into the thread and wreck the peace...

I think your post was very well put.

I can see how having a diapering 101 (questions, laundry issues, how to fold a flat, etc) separate from a stalking stockings/showoff forum could make sense. I think it would be nice if somehow the diaper making forum could be crosslisted so that it showed up under both crafts and diapers.

It was a misunderstanding that ended in rudeness. Is that an acceptable compromise?

I have been attacked before... I dont like being told what I can and cant do with my items by a hyena. Those that cant spend so muc on diapers do feel left out Im sure. I mean for those that say how can a diaper be worth this much $$$ and its a hyena diaper you better watch out!!!! For some of us if a diaper is $50 it better be able to work and bring in the money for bills!!! You cant say anything bad about a hyena diaper you get bashed. Ive seen this a few differant times. For some here $50 is nothing for a diaper and is worth it to them others like myself $50 for a diaper is way to much $$$ no matter how well it is made!!! I have $10 diapers that I think are wonderfully made and love better than the few hyena daipers I have managed to grab.
Ok anyway back on topic. I think there needs to be a place where those that cant afford the major hynea diapers can talk and ask questions and not feel bad, and can ask without being attacked about how a diaper can be so much $$$ On the other hand the hyenas need a place where they can talk without feeling like they are stepping on toes, (but from experience I dont think that happens much)
Maybe we can just all agree to get along and not attack people for spending lots of $$$ on diapers or being excited about buying a diaper that doesnt cost a lot of $$$ and not attack people for doing what they want with what they have purchased.
Ive learned a lot through many people here and although I would hate to split into two but maybe the board just has gotten too big.

It'll never happen! We all have different opinions on what is and what isn't expensive and there's a thread once a month or so (more than that recently) saying, "OMG! You won't believe how much this costs! Who would spend that kind of money on something that their child poops in?" It's a vicious cycle and I think until everyone stops caring about what people spend/don't spend, we're not getting anywhere towards a workable solution.

I know... but one can dream right?
I definitely think there should not be a "frugal" forum of the diapering and a "hyena"That is just silly.
More like, maybe a sticky of a more complete listing of the basics.That way newbies can have a place to start.

It actually can be listed so it looks like a Diapering subforum, but it would actually work like a link that takes people right to the Diaper Making forum. (Yep, the reason I think too logically is because I'm a Geek who's played with vBulletin forums a lot. :LOL )

Ok thats exactly what I dont want to see happen. Posts like that always end up judging mamas who spend money on diapers... and ALWAYS end up in drama. I support seperate forums for ease of finding things (questions, stockings, etc)... but I dont think it would be ok to have a forum just so that you can put down the spending habits of other mdc members who spend money differently than you.

I like your sticky idea, Leila. That way it wouldn't be "us" versus "them."
