As you can see I started 'spicing' up my PFs with some cute print fabric. Only that after those 2 Scooby Doo I got distracted with sewing dipes again..

Flats and today's received 6 PFs (which are waiting to 'dye' :LOL )
The flats are still from DD's baby time when I used them as burp cloths. Only the colored ones are recently dyed. (They're quite rough feeling though, don't know if I'll really use them as dipes for DS' bum...)

Oh yes, that day, anything white was in dire trouble of becoming one with my dye baths!

You can get procion MX dye at dharmatrading.com, or you can get the tie dye kits at Wal-Mart, Hobby lobby, michaels, Joann's, etc. The rainbow rock or dylon dyes (the brand names of the kits) are also procion MX and are a great way to get started.

Oh, really??? That's what I've used for dyeing my PFs.. Obviously I've diluted it then with too much water, huh?..

How many PFs do you dye with one 'mix' of a certain color???

I'm not really sure that I have a recipe for you. I haven't actually used the kits, so I don't know how much dye they give and how many prefolds you can do at a time with those.

I just use 3 primary colors from Dharmatrading.com and mix those. (It's cheaper that way, and fun to see how the colors turn out). I do mine in big batches, so I can't really give you a recipe.

The fun thing is that you can experiment, and just have fun!

Fun prefolds

I batiked a few prefolds to see if it would work and they look soooo neat! In addition to the ones in the link, I've got stars & hearts. DD was sick of changing diapers nonstop though .

I love to see the fun in a simple prefold- they sure dont look simple on this thread :LOL It makes me love my prefolds again

First where do all you mamas get those bright bright dyes? I need to get my hands on the dye- My PFs are in such need of a pick-me-up and for some reason Breezes infant poop stains EVERYTHING - oh how a nice dark purple would just hide so much

Here is Breeze in a converted pefold to a perfold/fitted I made the other day. I find converting them to fitted style when they start to get warn on the outside is a great way to keep the life of them longer. (sorry the photo is so washed out and bright)
