I'm looking for some good books, sing-along tapes or videos (NO DORA!!) for dd to try to start with Spanish. She's 3 yo, btw.
In the fall she will start at the International School in the Spanish immersion preschool program and will go to this school through high school graduation. For 3 years now we were planning for her to go into the French track, but they take only 12 for each track and the french filled up with siblings of older kids in the french elementary. They offered us a spot in the Spanish track and since they usually have about 4 or 5 times the applicants as slots, we figured this was better than nothing.
But dh and I speak not a word of Spanish. We have no spanish speakers in the family (we do have French). I want to start exposing dd to Spanish this summer. Nothing serious, just some fun stuff so she gets used to hearing the language a bit. The school expects no prior knowledge. She has had a lot of exposure to French since birth (we read to her in French and she has some French videos) as well as some other languages, but no Spanish. Could someone please direct me to some resources? We are going to the library today to see what we can find, but I though someone here might have some specific thoughts. I'd also like to start learing how to pronounce things in Spanish myself. TIA!
