Ok so I decided to try my hand at tiedying some prefolds & looked at my natural size 0 kissluvs waiting for the new babys butt & thought hmmm wonder what I could do with them. So I was inspired by the old fuzbaby diaper garden speckled eggs & decided to try it out on the KLs. I used fiber reactive dyes with an eye dropper instead of dipping in or squeezing on the dye. Some of the speckles show through on the inside in a few spots though But I think it mostly worked out.

I used the rainbow rock dye kit in primary colors, just mixing them & adding more water till I got the shades I wanted. Found the kit at my local Michael's craft store for $10 I think.

How cute! I have some plain fireflys, I've been thinking about doing something similar. Did you soak the diapers in the soda ash solution first?

yep soaked them for 20 min. I think, then dripped on the dye, let them rest for 6 hrs. and then rinsed & washed in hot water with one of those color catcher sheets just to ensure the dye didn't bleed too much
