nooooo....heidi....don't go to the dark side...stay with us, your janulicious friends!
So, well, I'm finally having a moment to post, and I don't even where to start.
Jessi, whoo! on Evelyn sitting!!! Thats awesome! Luka too! Anyone else? We're starting to get there. I'll give it another week or so.
Violet is finally starting to get the hang of rolling. As soon as we lay her down, she flips right over. She can scooch herself around pretty good too. Yeah, she's one of the older babies on here, but she's pretty fat - she has quite the bulk to flip, ya know. Like a walrus. I fear for any baby laying next to her, less she roll over and babinate them. Then she will eat them. Just ask Luka. :LOL Her thighs are 12 inches
Oh, Jess, I was going to say - It seemed like V was starting to thin out around 4 months too, but then she had a growth spurt and now she is huge again. I bet E does that too.
So, Joyce, dh sounds like he's being a lamo. So sorry mama. Dads do that. Its one of the secrets about parenting that people don't talk about. There is lots of stuff like that, that you realize when you become a mom. Some of its great - (like all that stuff your parent's did suddenly makes sense???) And some of it is lame. I have no advice for you. My dh still acts like a lamo, and we're on #3. The man acts like baby pee is acid.
I can't imagine how it would be with twins. Just breathe, take a deep breath, and give him a kiss.
Hugs to you guys, I am really in awe of you both.
So, Lisa, you were asking about hot weather? Its actually not too hot on the part of the island I live on. Usually stays in the 70's or so. We're at the base of some steep cliff like mountains, so we get lots of clouds and mist to cool us off. And tradewinds. But Honolulu can get very hot and humid. Luckily we have the beautiful ocean to cool us off. I usually leave Violet and Makai without a diaper on during the day, unless we go somewhere, and they usually just where a t- shirt and diaper even then. Its getting hard to take her in the sling. It hurts my back, and its too hot. Actually, not too hot - just very humid and sticky, which really bothers me.
I've been wanting to join the 1000 min challenge too. I think I'll join next month, because once Violet is 6 months I can go back to yoga class. Its at the gym and they have childcare there. the ladies that work there are awesome - the boys beg to go. Not the best place for yoga, but its all we have here. So, I think I can pop in there a couple times a week, and do an hour of yoga, or piyo, or the elliptical and pop out. I wish I could take yoga at a real studio, but they are far from my house, and the schedule never works out where dh would be able to watch the kiddies.
So, more about Kobe - swelling around the eyes has gone down a bit, so he can see now. But it looks like there is so much fluid under the skin that its going to have a huge blister. This happened on his ear and chin too
Our friends came over today with dvds and just sat there and chilled with him. I think it really cheered him up. I hadn't seen him in such good spirits in days. His temp was up to 103.5 after they left, but he was still in good spirits. I gave him some tylenol, and he had a cool bath and is resting comfortably now. We're going to the ped every day now, so they can check his urine for protein, and to check for arthritis, stuff like that. Its been really hard to see him going through it. Nicole and Laura, I really have a new appretiation of how strong you were with all you went through with your little beans. Gah, its hard, eh? I wish I could just take it all away for him.
Andy- we really have no idea what is going on with him, or what is causing it. It seems like he caught a cold, and his body started to freak out and attack itself. The doctor is rechecking his titers, and urine and stuff, so hopefully that will give us some more answers, although with this kind of thing, there might not be any concrete ones. All they can do is keep treating him the way they are. With strong doses of Benadryl. Can't give him anything stronger, because he has a fever.
Ok, I'm gonna go now. Sorry for my poor grammar and rambling. I'm sooo tired. We have to get up every couple hours to check his swelling and give him meds. I don't know how I survived months of this when I had newborns??? Must be hormones or something.
Oh.. some pics. I included one of Makai, too. I feel like he has been sort of lost in the mix lately, with all that's going on--- and he's still my baby too.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...e/IMG_0275.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...e/IMG_0307.jpg
