My DS has become a biter.
He got his top 2 teeth in about a month ago, and since has decided that everything from the table leg to mommy's leg to the cat is his personal teething ring. I give him all kinds of acceptable things to chew, like teething rings, biter biscuits, ice in a babysafe feeder; and tried teething tablets, tylenol, you name it. But he still bites me constantly. When i pick him up for any reason, he immediately sinks his teeth into my shoulder. He is smiling and babbling while he does this so i dont think its malicious, but i have little teethmarks all over me! During nursing is the worst. My poor nipples
: I cant have him around any other kids cus he will bite their fingers or arms or any other bit of flesh that comes across his mouth.
I have tried to say "DONT BITE" in my best angry mommy voice, but that makes him laugh every time. He thinks the angry voice is hilarious. I take away the breast when he bites during nursing, but then he just cries and cries until i give it back. I dont want to hit him or flick him in the cheek like so many people are saying, but NOTHING is working!!!
He is onlu 11 mo, so how can this be effectively dealt with? I dont want him to be that kid that no parents will let their kids play with.
Between the biting and the constant shrieking, i am getting so annoyed and frustrated.
Anything worked for you? Any pearls of wisdom?
Lisa
