Does anyone have a recipe for a natural tick repellant? I am looking for something that is safe to use on a 6 months, 2 yrs and 3 yrs, and nursing or pregnant momma? Any ideas? We are moving to a heavily wooded country area, and the ticks are rampant.

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

We use this recipe I got off of here on ourselves and our cats and have had very good results. Cats now pick up about one tick a week, instead of 4 per day.
5 drops Eucalyptus essential oil
2 drops Geranium essential oil
4 drops Lemon essential-oil
1 drop Peppermint essential oil
1 Tablespoon Herbal Trim (this is a commercial product and I think you could leave it out)
1/4 teaspoon massage oil
1.5 ounces purified water (3 T.)
Pour all ingredients into a 2 ounce spray bottle and shake to blend. Spray on exposed areas of the skin. This is also a very effective general bug repellant. Reapply every 2 hours. From "Is Your Home Safe?" by Larissa Jones

Oh thanks Amydoula. I am also in need of a good tick repellant for humans, so I will try this out.
