I am another one who has used cloth pads exclusively since 1992
I have tried just about everything out there--but my current favorites are:
**Hidden Pearl Creations LadyGlows~ her lites (one piece) are wonderful for pregnancy and as an alternative to paper panti liners during your fertile time as well as during the moon flow...for those of you who are looking for a heavy-duty pad for postpartum or night time use, her Postpartum Pads with the inserts are wonderful!! Definately get on HPC's e-mailing list for times of stockings and custom orders!! http://www.hiddenpearlcreations.com

**Funny Farm Creations~ I don't have as many of these, but love the organic velour Check them out at http://www.knittedsandfitteds.com Stockings are usually on Friday, and be sure to get on Shannie's e-mailing list too.

**HagRag~These are 2-pc. pads but super comfy and lots of fun ~ Tanya has a *Pad of the Month* club too http://www.hagrag.bigstep.com

Because I've heard so many great things about them here on the boards, Freshies are on my wish list.

Alright, the Museum of Menstruation has been mentioned. But nobody has pointed out that a reader emailed the website and said his family used to make menstrual belts. These were back in the days when everything was belted. They were made of a spongy foam, could be reused, and they were sold door-to-door somewhat like Avon. I thought these would be lower-maintenance than pads because they could be easily rinsed. They would be a good product to make today. (If you look for it, they were called Nu-Naps.)

I like solid colors in dark red, purple or blue. I don't care about stains much! But the Glad Rags that I had didn't stain until I'd used them several years.

I've always wanted some type of belted pad. I want that puppy right up against my body.

I searched Nu-naps and just got links for tampons that were called those.

I've done the belted pads, that's what the hospital here uses unless you ask for the mesh panties. They're a real pita to use and do not hold the pad close to you like panties do.

Maybe we are missing something, here.

I wonder if we have just 'forgotten' how to control this particular function. No *other* animal that I know of goes around with blood running down it's legs for one out of every 4 weeks, and in the absence of "tools", that's what we'd be doing... That doesn't sound right.

It is interesting reading this. I have this amazing book called "Woman-Centered Pregnancy and Birth" and they discuss Menstrual Extraction
and discuss it also as a part of the Self-Help Movement that helped to empower numerous women. They go on to say "This technique, which shortens the menstrual period, lightens the flow, or terminates an early pregnancy, has been used for ten years with outstanding safety and success". The book was printed in 1984. I had never heard of it before reading this book.

I use the Diva Cup, and love it btw.

Af made her appearance a couple weeks ago after more than a few years away, and I used my Freshies mama cloth for the first time! It was surprisingly very comfy, and this former tampon using gal is now exclusively going cloth. I even sold my brand new never tried it at all Diva Cup! And I got more Freshies.

I my Glad Rags. Haven't been brave enough to try the Keeper yet, but I will someday. I don't do anything special with 'em--rinse 'em if I happen to be near a sink, throw 'em in the laundry and wash 'em. Easy as anything. I really don't give a flying flip about stains.

I had a Keeper that I used for many years before becoming pregnant. I haven't gotten my period back yet but when I do, I know I will want to get another one... the after vag birth size. I want to get some mama cloth too but still deciding which kind to get. I don't like pads really but I think it's good to have a few on hand.

i am sooo excited about this. It is my next step in nfl. It is amazing though, how many of my "crunchy" friends have said ewww when I have mentioned it.

I am sewing my own cloth pads.

I love my diva cup. Wouldn't trade it for anything. I have only one - only need one!

I use mama pads for backup.

As for stains on the mama pads, I know some moms use a mix of water and peroxide to treat stains. I, personally, don't care about the stains. No one is looking at them but me

But, when you take one off, keep it in a water filled bowl/bucket with a lid and empty/replace water every day. This helps with the staining.
