need info on HVBAC

hi ladies,

i've never posted here before, but i have been lurking a bit here on your homebirth forum, trying to gather information for my own.

i attempted a homebirth with my son, now 15 mos., but we transferred and i had a necessary c-section. i am now pregnant again and am looking forward to this little one arriving at home. i would like to gather some statistics and information about the safety of hvbac, but haven't known where to look exactly.

can anyone else give me some reassuring stories about successful hvbacs? i feel very confident that this pregnancy and birth will be healthy and normal. i just want to reassure my husband and family that hvbac is a good choice.

tia!

Hi!
Haven't hbac'd myself, but the info and reassurance you are seeking can be found in Nancy Wainer Cohen's books, Silent Knife and Open Season. Should be available at your local library, as well as bookstore. She also has written an awesome article for ICAN, which I highly recommend looking up. ICAN.com???

There is an online vbac group, AnEmpoweringvbac.com, in which one of the moms has hbac'd *eight times after three sections!* Her name is Kathy, she is FULL of great advice.

Oh, yeah, there is also the vbac thread here at MDC! Look back for hbac stories there, one mom recently had a beautiful hbac!

Welcome, and good luck!
