Whoa, thats some diaper madness, there! My stuff I got uswed off the TP when pregnant is already out of fashion- it was pre- fuzzbomb and elbess and all those fancy hyenas.

As far as my shopping madness, I went good will hunting today- we have awesome thrift shops and kids clothesa re 1.49 an item no matter what you buy. I found Iris mermaid clothes- a jumper and a shirt- i was sooo excited! So I was feeling a bit consumer madness-y myself. Plus all my swaps are going to be poste and thats consumer maddening in a way, too. Our dipes are getting too small....but I just received 5 kissaluvs size 1s and a single sz 2, and realized the larger one will work for now and she'll grow into it real soon. So I ordered 20 kissaluvs size 2s used from a board, and I hope will last me for a long, long time. I'll get those soon I hope.

I sure hope you get your carrot dip Jess! martin home, I 'm going t ohave a real life for a while.....

Hi Ruby mom's Jess and Nicole! I was gonna comment on your posts, but i 'll at least say hi before i go!!!

You’re right, Karen, the bathroom is a great place to catch up on MDC!

Karen—I found out about that spelt thing last weekend when I bought some spelt tortillas. I was eating them and thought, “oooh, these taste just like whole wheat!” Then I read the package and found out that the two grains were closely related. Doh. So they basically WERE whole wheat, just . . . not. The Wonderoos & inserts are almost ready to be worn. We have those same Cottonbabies inserts, and were amazed how different yours felt. It’s taken a few washes for them to get back up to “fluff.” Def. something weird in your water. The Wonderoos look better, but I haven’t tested them yet.

Annie—I can’t imagine what your pantry must look like, with so many dietary exclusions. BUT I am so happy that you are finding this celiac issue out now, rather than later. I probably will not buy any of those flour mixes for a while; don’t know yet what bothers Carmen. I should stick with mochi for now. I’m going to go to the big Whole Foods this week and see if they have any, thanks for the tip.

. . . later . . . now I’m feeding Carmen and DH is trying to give Davey a bath. Davey ain’t liking it. DH (home today) tends to use too hot or too cold water.

Lisa—Did you change you vitamins as part of the ted? Carmen’s rash and poopy diapes haven’t quite settled down. Not much left to eat before I go cold turkey (literally).

Andy—I work and have the twins, but:
1)bulk of housework done with/by Helper or dh, which is a big . . . well, help.
2)I don’t think I’m doing a very good job at doing my job. I won’t put the babies last, so some days I just don’t get much done. My work doesn’t mind, now, but at the conference call someone mentioned that I would be in Dallas for three days in September. I am?!? I’m not really in the loop & one day it’s going to come back to haunt me.

I’m not sure how much longer it’s going to last. I’m really only working to subsidize the help the other 35 hours/week. I know they want me to assume my old position, but no way, I know better, now. we'd all suffer for it. I’d consider a compromise if I had familia here . . . but I don’t.

Okay, my mousing hand hurts . . . ‘nite (for now?)

I did the buy it now on the strawberry soaker. this is a beautiful one. It had a buy it now of $50 yesterday and if it wasn't a l/xl it would have been mine. I really don't know if miss e'll ever be that big. I put it on my watch list though :

Jessi yeah its cool if Karen borrows those diapers. I think she'll like the colors too. Thats really cool that nan is doing ec. What made her start?

Annie I saw a pic of the soaker for Violet over at the wooly wonder forum. They are really cute. I was going to post my shorts up, but I want to get a picture of her wearing them too, which I just did. They fit pretty good, except I got lost in my knitting and ended up with a 17.5" rise Well at least there's no worry about her diaper being covered

Oh and I branched out with the strawberries, I bought a strawberry gymboree set :

Ha ha Az! Branching out!!! Orin has a 16.5"rise w/a diape. so I don't think 17 is too big. What's miss E? I LOVE the berry soaker. Trust me...she'll get big eventually!!!

Joyce - that's so great that the diapes are working for you! I think, Karen, you should email wonderoos people and let them know that the water you have (soft?) is no good w/those diapes. They could make extra $$ selling water hardner or softener or whatever but it's a shame that you worked on stripping them, waiting for them, washing them over and over all for naught.

I have a ton of packages in the mail...other than orin's new advocacy shirt (which fits big and we love!) nothing nada zippo bupkiss. so sad. every day I bribe my postman w/a smile, a cold bottle of water, a drool-ey smooch from the babe...but no fluffy packages. I hate waiting.

Lori - yes, that's the location I was referring to. Seems to me that some locations are better for wahm than others in terms of opportunity. It's possible that you could do an online thing, just puter, like the medical xscription or legal thing, but other stuff comes to mind. child care, secret shopping? Although I looked at that site annie posted only briefly, you need to have some experience to get in the door there (huh!). Anyway, keep an open mind. What about selling something you love? like Usbourne books? Pampered chef? Or doing it w/a buddy?

Ok, I don't see how you anyone w/a job and twins could POSSIBLY keep up on housework and laundry and all the rest without SERIOUS help. And it's GOT to be $$$$$$$! Poor girl. Where's all that family? The aunties, abuelas? Oh, you did mention there was a split up and then the family got smaller and smaller... that does make it harder. Will they be happy if you stay part time (happy enough to keep paying you, that is :LOL )

I've been having luck w/spelt, tho I cheat now and again (but today I went to the coffee shop in town and I DIDN'T buy the most luscious looking goodies in the window...I was SOOOO good! Good enough to justify going online and buying a funky diaper? Not for the one shot deal, but if I can keep it up...). Mostly it's putney pasta or sesame chicken (breaded) that trip me up good. I'm not replacing any of this stuff, but it needs to get eaten eventually and it's starting to age in the freezer over here... down to once a week or so now, though.

Ok, promised I wouldn't be on here all night. dh is working on the higher levels of a new game we got (ha!) and I wanted to jump on and say HI! We're still in la la land over here w/the babe. I have only ever woken him once to take the baby, so dh is great about helping out when he's home. I even get to go to the bathroom all by my self when he's here! :LOL Ori did really well on naps and such today. 2 2.5hr naps and a shortie in the middle. YEA!!! Hugs to mamas having hard days tho. I sure know those too!

Have a great night! xoxo andy

hi mamas. we're back from the beach and I'm one tired mama. Luka was asleep the whole way home and I figured I'd get in a nap while he slept, buy he quickly awoke. fine baby, eh?

the novelness of a baby wore off 12 years ago for dh, :LOL he's totally into Luka, but for a short time each day. whatever. I didn't expect anything but that. I know him well.

Jessica- I'd love to try some new diapers. Yes, Luka is in tykie's meds- he's got 2 snaps to go for now. he seems to have put on a little chunk recently though he's still not fat. I just notice his legs are a little more pudgy.

Sheri- that strawberry one is so cute- I love the one you bought, and though this one is super big it's really nice.

joyce- interesting about the microfiber inserts. fluff em up mama. let us know how you like the wonderoos.
so far I'm not noticing any problems with the spelt.... hopefully I can have it. I actually don't know if the rash was even wheat related, come to think of it. it might have just been heat rash or something. Do you Lisa, or whoever know how long it would take to have a reaction to a food? I know Lauren reacts quickly, but this seems minor.

Heidi- I HATE water like that. dh's grandma is in Az and I always find the water there disgusting (in scottsdale- don't know if it's so bad where Nicole or Heather is). When I'd shower there- ugh. get thee some bottled water and teach Iris to enjoy clean and fresh water!

Karen - yuip, I'm still here - um, wheat can take a while, unfortunately. Also you may want to look for other symptoms (moodiness, sleep patterns). True dat, 'bout the wheat. w/o the jumbo killer elim. diet you won't know for sure, and even then, it could be anything! Heat rash is a likely culprit, actually. As he matures, it should get less...is it less now???

I am stalking our postal carrier also!! I did some photos for LeAnn at TMT (you can see us under Linen Slings - not our best moment) She gave me a sling for it and one for ds. He has his (with turtles), but I am waiting for mine (dusty rose silk). It isn't very practical, but oh, so pretty!! I also bought two Wonderoos off the TP.

h2o - We have a water softener and a reverse osmosis thing. Without the reverse osmosis, I wouldn't drink the water. It is gross!!! My parents have neither and I refuse to drink their water (they live in Scottsdale). Just YUCK!!! The water is pretty good now that we have the filter, so I can't complain.

I am floored tonight. Both of my babes were asleep by 5:45p! Aine usually goes to sleep early, but Eamon surprised me. He didn't nap today and apparently was quite tired!! I was able to do a yoga video and get some computer time

to you quick knitting mommas!! I think I have too many irons in the fire. I still am finishing Eamon's pair of shorties...I have to split for the crotch right now and then I will be done....easier said than done

Hugs to all the sleepy mamas! I don't get much and am pretty used to it. DH tells me to nap when the kiddos do, but it isn't easy. Also they don't always nap at the same time. Also there is stuff to do around the house!!! UGH!

Ann - I am glad they figured out a few things for Kobe. : for finding foods for the little guy!

Potty training/learning/whatever is going pretty well. All poops in the pot and only two missed pees. Not too shabby. Still not sure how to get him used to the idea of not urinating in underwear

better sign off - knitting and reading to do (plus a ton of other stuff)...

Man, I got nothing done tonight. We set out to go to dinner at Fresnos and ended up at Long John Silvers cause we didn't want to waste time. Beatrice was fascinated by the ringing the bell, though. Then we went grocery shopping, and I ended up killing a lot of time hiding out in the natural foods section (where only other nice understanding crunchy people like ourselves are ) while she nursed to sleep because I didn't want to parade my flabby belly all over the store. Then I ran into the LLLLeader right after that, so I might as well have paraded it around; it wouldn't have been new to her. :LOL Grocery shopping turned out to be very draining and confusing and stressful, so we just came home after that. Arg. I need to get something for my dad and mail it out, and I have other crap that has to be mailed, and I'm starting to feel like I'm chewing at the bars here. It's not that I never get out, but that I don't get anything done when I do. Takes me forever to do one freaking errand. I keep going out to do maybe 3 things and remember 1 of them, and end up wandering around a store for an hour, so it's not really a time issue, it's an organizational issue. Okay, ranty over, I feel better now. I hope this is just milk-brain and not permanent mama-brain.

In other news, I'm very enamored of the Harleyz wool-in-one. Beatrice was pulling up her dress all through the grocery store to show off her turtle butt. :LOL We tried the stars one today too, but she peed in that rather quickly. And now I've been looking at diapers on Ebay and the TP and stuff. It's like getting a box of crack. I have diaperlust now.

What I've heard about spelt is that it's a less nutritious version in the wheat family. Spelt originally grew wildly, and then when people started cultivating grains, it bred into wheat.

I've kinda been thinkign about EC, too. I think I'd have best luck in the morning, when she's peeing tons, but I never feel like getting out of bed. It's hard enough to get up and change her after she pees. :

Dead tired. Going to make myself go sleep now. Night mamas.

Had a bad day yesterday. I felt so tired. I don't know why, i've been sleeping like 6-7 hrs each night. I was like so close to falling asleep so many times during the day. Then ahd a bad pumping day because Megan ust wanted to be held which is hard to hold and pump at the same time. Went to be very early when he got home, so I missed by last pump also. Only pumped 3xs yesterday
Anyone got some good natural energizing tips?

Hi Laura - sorry about the down and out feeling of tiiired. yk, even getting decent sleep, two little ones is VERY draining! My only real rec. is exercise. Get them into the wagon or packs or strollers or any combination of those and get walking. It's cooled off now, so NO EXCUSES mama! A 30 minute walk will perk you up and get the blood moving. Also I recommend live foods (fruit esp.) and probiotics. Feel better soon!!! Andy

PS - my left boob is killing me AGAIN! I bought liquid lecithin but I haven't taken it daily (probly 3 times in the 5 days I've had it) 'cause there never seems to be time to make a shake w/it. : I'm going right now to make one w/fresh rapsberries. Take care mamas! Today is beca's bday celebration in class (bday is nxt week but this is the last week of school). keeping busy! caio!
Water - I agree with Heather. I have an Reverse Osmosis system too, but if I didn't, we would order the bottled water. The tap is so chlorinated.

My brain is so fried today. I spent 90% of yesterday working on that project to get it done, and I still have just a tiny bit to get done. Then I am quitting, but I can't give up the 170 bucks that I am going to earn on it. I was up so late, and then Will woke up at 2:30, which was harsh.

Will seems to have come down with a cold, so he is all stuffy and coughing and stuff. Fortunately, we don't have to worry about his heart anymore when he gets sick, so that makes it easier.
\
Better go get ready for work. See ya. Here's to hoping that I actually stay awake at work today.

Paq, : that diaper bug is catching, isn't it? I'm glad you're enjoying the turtle dipe. Bea is a cutie.

Oh, my Nana is all about feeding Evelyn. I'm okay with it, though. Evelyn is sitting, she doesn't push it out with her tongue, she lunges for our food (more than for other stuff), she's doubled her birth weight, and she loves to eat.

This morning I forgot to feed her before I left, bad mama! Not that she doesn't have enough food at home. When I start to feel bad, I think about Az worrying that 150 oz of ebm wouldn't be enough for one concert, and I laugh.

Sympathies to everyone with icky water! I drink most of my water at work, where it's filtered.

We went to BRU last night for the clip-on high chair and the BBLP. The potties were all white.

It was a pretty good night last night. The Little Beetle she wore to bed lasted a long time. Then when I finally did change it, I failed to get the cover on correctly over the next one, and she woke up in a big ol' wet spot. It was all up her back, not that she cared. I took her into the shower with me. That was a big surprise for her, a shower first thing in the morning.
Now I have an excuse to order more Cloth-Ease so we won't be out of pockets at night. Sometime tonight more custom slots will be stocked. Goodie, goodie. Ann, did you get yours yet? Mine was the next custom order after yours and they're in the mail, so yours probably are too.

Ugh! We went to try out the pedi today no go. It started out bad and then got worse. We are at least going to deley vax and since today was her 4mth check up it was all vax vax vax I could tell the dr was getting angry that we were not going to chg our minds about not vax today (we never told him no all together just not today) and that kinda overshadowed the whole visit. I don' think he examined her very well. He did tell us that she gaining way too slow and need to get more calories and we need to start cereal. He didn't ask about the milestones or anything it was all vax. He also told us that we aren't welcome back there unless we vax, because she'd be a danger to others.
I'm just so
Az, sucky pedi! Can you ask a new pedi (or his office staff) about their vax policies before you make an appt? What a waste of time and money. And how stupid that doctor sounds! A danger to others, how stupid. If the others are vaxed and vaxes are sooooo wooooonderful, why are they in danger? The others can be a danger to Miss E.

Forget anything he said. chalk him up on the stupid doctor list and move on.
Az- I'm sorry your dr appt sucked. Our fp is the same way and I think I'm going to have to find a new one. I am definitely going to skip the 4 mo check up though. How much does she weigh? Ruby was super skinny too. She still is and she eats all the time. Some kids are just skinny. Don't let your dr scare you.

Sorry this is a big stressor for me. I really think most drs are drama queens...."Oh my gosh, you're going to die!!!"
Sheri! You need a NEW ped! what an a$$hole! geesh. sounds like it was a totally UNproductive visit. I haven't been to the ped in ages with Luka mostly because I don't even want to deal with the questions. She knows we've selectively vaxxed with the other boys, but still. and the nurses can be horrible sometimes.

whew. Noam's camp is almost over. these early mornings are killing me. today, Luka is still asleep (for the 1st time practically EVER) and I'm up getting breakfast.
Noam is so gettign on my nerves too.... we're all getting up early for him to go to this special camp and he's sitting on the couch, in his PJs, not eating, etc..... ugh. I just snapped at him too.
on a good note, it's beautiful out and will be a gorgeous day.

Laura_ i was gonna say the same thing as Andy- take a walk.... or get in some water (even a shower). but the exercise is your best bet, IMO

ok, bkfst is ready. aloha mamas
Ok I am seriously lagging in the social dept with the janulicious crowd. So I'm going to read and reply to just a few, but I did read them all, and I send some of you mental replies.

Joyce - how long have you been on the get skinny fast diet? It might be your vitamins, you could drop them for a week or get on the manu. website to see what's in them. Lots of vitamins have lactose in them.

Laura - do you have a pump bra?

BBLP - yah sadly BRU only has it in white. If you are going to order a color online, I'd go with the EC store, only because it's a wahm business and they are nice. And they have most of the colors. We have a yellow one, but I'd like a few more. Oh and you can always hit the dollar store, sometimes some of them have generic potties.

ebay - I'm mostly a browser, but I did just buy a "new" (30 year old) sewing machine to replace my 45 year old one. Was going to repair mine because it's gear driven and 10000x better at putting in zippers than any other, but instead I got the same machine that my mom has - she has EVERY accessory for it so I'll need not. I have been watching a lot of other stuff, dipes, cameras (that came in the mail yesterday thanks Annie for the rec), etc.

dipes - well I browse ebay for ideas and once in a while I buy, but I really am not obsessed like *some* people here are! My fetish is for carriers, especially since I've been having a lot of neck/back/shoulder pain with 17# Lauren in the maya. So I'm looking for a 2 shoulder nursable something. Perhaps it's time to suck it up and finish the gauze wrap. And I'm stalking a really cute wool wrap for a friend who is having a baby at the end of summer. Pretty things for little babies

City water - SUCKS here. And they turned it off yesterday for most of the day. We buy 2.5 gal jugs at the discount store (name brand water tho!) and go through it pretty fast.

Yesterday - well evil dh finally pissed me off enough that I had to leave. After the *yawn* I didn't get enough sleep BS I politely reminded him that I hadn't slept in like 8 days and he gave me this whiney "well welcome to motherhood" crap. SO I let him have it, and I packed up Lauren and my sewing stuff and I left. Went to mom's where she played w/baby while I sewed (it's becoming therapy for me) and then I nursed her to sleep during Oprah and sewed some more and mom made me dinner and dad washed my car, it was a really nice time. Then my niece woke Lauren up at 6 by trying to put her paci back in and Lauren totally freaked out - strange person in a strange room and no mama, she has NEVER cried like that before. It made me cry. So I had to scold niece for waking baby, as she was instructed to open the door and look but not touch her at all, niece got snotty with me while baby was still screaming, so my mom gave her a little lecture. It's interesting to see my mom try to raise my niece the way she raised me - except she has no power in undoing all the bad things my nieces mother has done, so it's almost a battle never to be won.

Anyhow, I got my kid calm, and my stuff together, and we went to the ICAN meeting which just happened to be up the street from moms house. The topic this month was "Dealing w/birth trauma and PTSD" and it was SO necessary for me to go. Run by one of the homebirth midwives and an awesome doula, they went through all kinds of stuff and made me painfully aware of how much MORE I need to deal with Lauren's birth. And they gave me some things to try and some new ideas too.

Lauren and I started swim class today. She is the youngest (it goes 3mo - 3 yr) and she was the happiest of them all. We went with very preggo friend and her 19 month old babe, and it was a good time. She is SERIOUSLY tired now and sleeping zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz..... last night we got home at 11, and she slept better than she has in a while, I think I might force the last nap a little earler and not let her sleep at 7 anymore. She went from 11-3, wiggled a little, so I got her on the potty and nursed, she didn't pee, did nurse, fell asleep on the potty sitting up, which is hysterical. Then again at 6 she was still dry, nursed, fell asleep, this time I wiggled her a little and she peed, passed out again. Woke at 8:30, is sleeping now. Seriously thinking about finding a pool we can go to every day if need be, I like tired baby!

Just ate some super grease : for lunch... mmmm so good, yet so bad.
