Well we are now considering using Kate for a girl. I really love the name Kate but DH says its too short/plain. He wants to use Katherine or Katarina and call her Kate but I just like Kate/Katie. For a boy I am almost decide on Nathan.

I found this site a while ago and thought you might like it too. http://www.ssa.gov/OACT/babynames/
Kinda helps weed out the way too common names.
Last time, we had a list of 11 girls and 11 boys names and that list was considered "classified." I'm not sure what's going on this round, but I already have a girl's name. Holland Faith. My grandfather in law (passed away in 2000, amazing man) was Dutch and I heard someone else use that name for their daughter and it just clicked. That's it! My "dream" family is four kids, a boy then three girls. I got my first boy, Spencer Paul. Paul is DH's middle name after a "grandfather" - a dear friend of the family, not a blood relation. The girls' middle names will be Faith, Hope, and Joy. We'll see of course. =) I have no thoughts on the boys names, and they might be classified. I was just too excited about Holland to keep that to myself. =)

Ohh! I love these names!
DecemberSun, my dh is just like yours! I can't get him to agree to any of my "nature names".
We like Gabriel or Thomas for a boy, and either Aubrey or Annalise for a girl. Not sure on the middle name.

I really like the name Eleanor. It is old fashioned, but I think that is nice. We haven't really talked about names much, but we like Lily and Aiden. I like Ella, which a few of you have mentioned. There could be a lot of Ellas born in Feb.! Well, I like everyones' names, and I think I will start looking!

Ok, let me just say I'm
to see both of my favourite names already on the list.
Ainsley is a girls name that we just love. Mostly Dh loves it but I like it too. Is it becoming really popular?
Also Nathaniel. It is my first choice for a boys name but we backed off of it in favour of Silas last time because I was afraid of a really common name.
IF we used Nathaniel he would be Nathaniel or Nat. I don't like Nathan so much for my own child (but do think it is a nice name otherwise)
Um ok.....
My children are Charlotte Anabelle and Silas Bennett.
I like any of the following name combinations
girls
Ainsley Elizabeth
Julianna Paige (dh HATES this I don't know why I LOVE it)
Audrey Katherine (tell me is Audrey hideous? My dh is a huge Audrey Hepburn fan... oh wait, I just realized thats two Hepburns in one name... scratch that then it would be Audrey Elizabeth)
Two names that are popular in our area but are pretty (I won't use either becuase friend have but I thought someone might like them) are Ava and Lily
boys
Henry David (call him Hank, after my Poppa)
Nathaniel William
Isaac George (I love Isaac, dh doesn't I doubt I'll get this one)

Well for a girl I can only come up with Ava, my gut keeps telling me this is a girl, but you just never know. As far as a boy's name, Kaden & Gage are coming to mind.

Dh has a boy's name picked out (secret)- he's had since our last 2 girls were born! I have an inkling this is another girl, so I'm thinking about names. I like Aurora/Rory , Ruby, Maggie (I have a relative named Magdelena), Kyra, and I also love Summer (what about Winter?). If I go early, which a big possibility, I am thinking of Noelle (If it's around xmas). My other DDs are Hannah, Katerina, and Tess, so I want something unique to go with those.

AndiG, I really like the name Audrey - it was on our final list of girl names last time. I think it sounds sophisticated yet approachable.
This is just my opinion, but does anyone else think that browsing for boys' names is about as boring as shopping for men's pants? I feel like there is much more of a social convention against anything remotely "different" for boys' names. And so many "classics" are just way, way too overused for my taste. Oh well, only a 50/50 chance we'll need one, anyway!

Carol,
thanks for the comments on Audrey. I think I like it but I'm waffling still...
As for the boring boys names thing oh HECK YES. I think if I hear William or Jacob or Michael one more time I'll SCREAM.
We chose Silas because its a unique family name and my dh didn't want a boring boys name (since his own name Clint/ Clinton) is a respectably interesting name...
I'm still thinking about boys names a lot. I don't have too many choices that I love....
