Welcome, Christy!

So glad you found us! My family used to go up to Au Gres regularly when the township park out by Au Gres Point used to be a privately owned campground (back in the 80's). We had to wash up in the lake (my parents weren't very up on being environmentally friendly) because there were only outhouses at the campground. The perch fishing was fantasic back then. I have some wonderful memories of my dad frying freshly caught fish for supper, then having s'mores by the campfire. I also have some good memories of my 1st "boyfriend," Scott, who I met at the same campground when I was 12. We would take walks around the campground "loop" and sneak in a kiss here and there. :

I think you'll find this group is pretty flexible, as far as "crunchyness" goes. Alyson, who was kind enough to rally us, really wants everyone to feel welcome to the group she formed on Yahoo: TriCityMIAPMoms. Hope you join us! Our next gathering is going to be October 2nd, 7:00 PM, at Ashley's house, for an autumn bonfire (I'm bringing the apple cider, donuts and banana boat fixings). If you join the Yahoo group, you'll get more info as it becomes available (directions, etc.). Hope to meet you sometime soon!

I'm in Mt. Pleasant!

Hello there,

I am in Mt. Pleasant but I travel to Midland a lot for healthcare, tumbling time at the Community Center etc. Would love to meet up with someone/several someones! I have a son 3 and a daughter due 12/30. A good place to meet, especially the first time, would be the Community Center tumbling time. I was thinking of going there this week or next week anyway. It's fun and will let him blow off some energy since I don't have much at this stage. I read that someone was thinking of starting a Yahoo group. Any word on that?

Like so many of us, I am crunchy in some things and not in others. We co-sleep, babywear, breastfeed (my son weaned just before his 3rd birthday, mostly because my breasts were too sore from the pregnancy!), do my best to watch diet/organic/sugar intake, and we plan to homeschool. I belong to the Mt. Pleasant food co-op and the Saginaw food buying club. Looking forward to hearing from, getting to know you!

Hi Janelle! Welcome! If you scroll up (or to an earlier page) you'll find the link to the yahoo group. I'd love to meet you at the community center -- where is it?

Maybe not this week, though -- it's snowing like mad, & I have a thousand things to do -- Aiden's birthday is Saturday, so I'm trying to clean, & I have to get the supplies today or tomorrow...

Nice to meet ya!

Hi Midland Mamas!!!

I am so psyched to find you! I moved to Midland in June 2005 and I am just now finding your postings today! I will be joining the yahoo group shortly...

Just want to say thank goodness for some kindred spirits around here--as an ap mama, I have felt somewhat misunderstood at times, but have stuck to it and have a wonderful 12 month old boy (and super supportive husband!).

Reading the postings about the spray park meeting on August 16 made me chuckle--my little one and I probably when for a run that day on the rail trail and saw you--wish I had known what I know now!

See you on yahoo!

Great, Shannon!

Hey Christy -- how far away are you from Midland?

Glad you found us, Shannon!

It's so great to have you here with us! Where are you from? Why did you move to Midland?

My name is Kara and I have three young daughters, ages 6, 3 and 9 months (all will be having birthdays in March/April). I teach Bradley Method® classes, practice AP parenting with DH (an awesome guy to whom I have been married for almost 13 years) and have lots of other interests. You will find lots of people here who totally understand why you choose to do AP.

Hello again

Hi All! I joined the yahoo group, so I'll be seeing you there too!!

In answer to your questions--

We live about five miles west of downtown Midland in Homer township--we have ten acres in a nice quiet area.

We moved to Midland because Rob's job at Dow was transferred from Charleston WV. We have adjusted well and Midland seems pretty nice (we miss those mountains though!).

I am originally from Athens OH and Rob is from Ontario.

Talk to you soon (probably on the yahoo group!)

Shannon
