I think there is ignorance about breastfeeding on "both sides" or "all sides" or whatever. I'm also a fairly conservative Christian who LOVES attending LLL where I presume I'm one of the few conservatives by the bumper stickers in the parking lot but honestly I don't care! I really like the breast-feeding moms I know regardless of our different political views because I find that we have shared experience and knowledge that makes it easy for us to relate. Breastfeeding moms ROCK, regardless of their political or religious views, as well as dads and non-nursing women who support breastfeeding.

I pretty much consider it one of my life responsibilities to be open about my breastfeeding experiences in hopes of encouraging or educating others, and I'll take whatever "positive press" we can get... you never know what article will "get through" to someone, you shouldn't put all your eggs in one basket.

BTW, I was very encouraged to breastfeed by a pretty liberal friend and Dr Sears...
