while i am thoroughly anti-vax, i have a dear friend who has done some vaxing b/c she intends to travel internationally, and is concerned for that reason.
last month her 7 month old received a HIB shot, it is the only one she has had. she developed a large, non-discolored welt at the shot site. it was large, and everyone is telling her (except ME) that it is normal and all is well. my friend is concerned, though, and not sure if she wants to do any more vaxes or not. she says that if she were not intending to travel to some less hygenic places than the states, she would not vax.
this mama is a bright, well-educated, awesome woman. if anyone has any links for me/her that are not condescending, etc, i would love to see them. i am trying to show her the anti-vaccine side of things, b/c i want her to do the thing i want her to do(avoid vaccines!)!
: any thoughts on the travelling aspect? why it makes more sense to travel as a vaccine free person than a vaxed person?
she wants to know more about HIB reactions, aluminum reactions, etc. IE, if her daughter got a big welt but no other acute symptoms from the vax, what can that mean about future shots? is the welt likely to be an aluminum reaction?
