DH's coworker/good friend and his wife are expecting twins in October. They had their u/s yesterday to find out the sex and all of that. Well, she called and had him pulled out of a meeting and go to the hospital. One of the babies is still alive but stopped growing and won't grow?? and the other doesn't have hands or feet and other possible problems. I am so upset for them. Each baby has its own sac and the doctor said this is incredibly rare that both would have such deformities. They went in for genetic testing today but I think they are going to terminate the pregnancy. I feel sooooo bad. On top of it, DH and I are due any day with our baby and their boss is having a baby next month. Ugh. All of these babies coming. These twin were unexpected for them (they have a dd who is almost three and weren't really planning on anymore children) but I know they both came to be very happy about it (they even went out and bought a new minivan for three carseats) and this is just such a shock.
It really puts these last few weeks in perspective for me. I won't be so quick to complain.
