Oh geez, I start a new thread, go out for the afternoon, and there are THREE pages to read now!!!
Annie, lol on the prying her out of the bumbo. I wanted one so much and never got one... and Lauren is almost ready to sit now.
Big bjorn potty - BRU has them here, but I bet Makai can use the little one too.
Jessi - if you want to try night ec w/o using a potty, you can do something called Jedi baby - put babe w/o cover in bed - when you feel the hot and wet on your leg (or whatever body part is near babe) then pee is coming. Somehow moms have this Jedi baby thing where you think the dipe is wet and it's not. Took me a long time to realize what was going on, I'd get Jedi, feel for wet, it was dry, keep going on my way, only to realize 3 min. later I WAS wet.
And if babe doesn't want to potty, you just swap out the dipe right away. Doesn't work with a cover though, Jedi powers aren't able to defeat the Vader of waterproof.
Karen, you iron like my husband. Right into the dryer
I had to iron my pants, usually stuff comes out of the dryer and goes to hangers the same day, but these were all balled up in a basket with heavy stuff on top, 100x worse than any wrinkles ever, and since I only have like 3 pairs of pants and no shorts right now, I needed to wear them.
OOOH I forgot.. with the "new" Ergo model, I found one of the old models for less. Had to get it. I'm going to need a 12 step program now.
Lori, don't worry, babies are made of nerf.
Jessi, lol, poop in the potty on the hat, instead of the baby. Isn't that nice? I'd rather clean a hat (or floor) over baby butt any day. Maybe baby butt over carpet, but tile or wood, sure, just poop away, I'll mop.
Hey Andy, would you do me a HUGE favor - snap a pic of the cover on the BMT, and then measure the cover for me? I don't have snaps or anything on mine to attach a cover.
Actually, I think I'd rather have hook/eye than snaps. Just less visible. But I'm glad you like it. When I have covers, I'm going to have a bunch of covers. Dressy, casual, beach, ooh maybe a solarveil one? Hehe!
Joyce, they're at nineacres.com, a friend of mine makes them... I must say, dh LOVEs it. I have to pry him out of it some days.
Laura, bummer on the pump. And bummer on being engorged and not being able to get it all out!
Pam, wow, you did well! Even at a thrift store.
We have that maya too (see, I'm obsessed!) but dh only used it when Lauren was tiny, he much prefers the MT now. So I keep it in the car for errands.
Jessi, line drying theory: if you hang rainbow dipes on the line, do you organize them to be in rainbow order? Or do you just pull out of the basket and have a multicolored line? :LOL
Joyce, my friend is now smaller post-nursing than before. There is hope. And go Carmen, you little LC!
Andy - unspillable potty - are you talking about the tuff'n'tumble? The problem with that is that the bottom bowl part is uhh... convex - it comes up like a little hill, and then the pee and stuff all goes to the sides of the potty and down to the bottom, and it's WIDE.. hence the nonspilling, BUT when babe poos a solid poo, or if babe sits low, their bums touch the top of the hill in the bowl. BUT, for the car I think they are a great idea, because if you can't dump it out, you just put the lid on and go. BUT for the $$ I have a nice rubbermaid bowl with lid in my car.
Andy - vacations - right now nothing is bad for us. The inlaws are going out to Colorado in July, and dh would like to go with them, BUT he only wants to go if we drive - and there is NO WAY I'm driving there this year. Last summer we went out and back and a little side trip too, 4000 miles in 10 days! Of course we COULD fly, since inlaws work for Continental, but dh hates flying standby and moans and groans about it the entire time. So I think we won't go
Annie - I remember as a kid a family friend who said that she rolled her breasts up - she was OLD then (I'm going to say somewhere between 60 and 80 since I had no idea as a kid) and my mom didn't believe her - she showed us! She unrolled her saggy breast from her bra and had flat balloons... but rolled up she had a nice chest. :LOL
Aaaah I'm only to 5 am, which is bedtime in HI. Must read faster!
Sheri, lol on your crack habit.
I'm going to take a body parts set of pics today and make dh a collage of baby parts... he's going to the airshow all day, and I'm going to meet my parents at church and spend the day with them - mostly because they will babyhold so I can sew.
Yesterday was DREADFUL with the inlaws. They didn't hardly talk to me. And dh was so insensitive about it - he just let me sit inside all alone inside when I nursed Lauren. FIL wasn't there, so I could care less about nursing in front of everyone, but Lauren was way too distracted and tired. And then I went and borrowed a bedroom from a cousin to nurse her to sleep (on the floor!) and when I finally got her to sleep and came back downstairs everyone was eating dinner and there were no plain burgers left, only cheeseburgers, and I couldn't scrape the cheese off enough to eat one. And all the sides were things I couldn't eat, all the desserts too, so I had a nice bun with onions and catsup, a banana I stole from the outlaw aunt, and my ricecream that I brought with me. SUCKY DINNER. And I told dh I was hungry and we still didn't leave until 10!!!
HELP ME MAMAS - smelly clothes - Lauren pukes so much and all over everything, even the bummis diaper covers smell. No matter how much I wash and wash and wash. So I *know* there is still stain there even though I can't see it. And I know that when I pack these things up and they go though a hot/cold cycle in storage the stains will come popping out on top of the smells, and I don't want smelly clothing. SO how do I get the smells out?!!?
Going to get ready for the day, I have about 45 min to get us out of here.
