Yes, it's very exciting, Leos. I hope you can relax and get into a groove with the contractions.

Shay, I am so glad you baby has turned.

As far as hot weather goes, well, it's winter here. :LOL It doesn't snow here though, so it's nothing major. Well, nothing major other than the nipple vasospasms I'm dealing with. We can't afford to turn all the heaters on, but if I get the slightest bit cold-- OUCH! My house is just too cool inside, too. It can be warm outside, but inside, it's cold. Well, at least we didn't need ac during the summer, but that was months ago and I've forgotten about it.

Shanana - I'm glad to hear your bp and swelling are under control. Thanks for reminding me I need to make nettle tea. I ran out of RRL, but still have a bunch of nettles to use up.

darsmama - Congrats on your dh's new job. Sorry you have to live in a messy place, but you gotta do what you gotta, right?

cheeseRjedi, I agree with everyone else, call you midwife about the hand-thing. I hope it feels better soon.

Nothing else going on here. I just cut out fabric to make my dd a new Shabbos suit. I need to measure her to decide how long the skirt should be, but she's out with dh looking at cars. We are going to get a car! YEAH! Living in suburbia without a car just doesn't work. I'm housebound all the time. There's public transport, which I would prefer to use, but it just doesn't work when one needs to buy 15 bags of groceries, schlep dd, etc. If there as a market close enough that I could make a quicker trip I'd try it, but when it takes an hour to get to the market, and I have to transfer buses twice just to buy food... I think we're getting a minivan-type vehicle. We'd like a 3rd child in the next few years, so we figure we'll need the space soon enough. I hope dh gets a good deal. After we get the car, I will buy dd a new car seat. I plan to use dd's old one for the new baby.

Leos - I'm confused! How can you get all that way, and then NOT have the baby right then and there? Good luck! Get rid of that puking! Get a baby in retirn!

Shay, my dad says he has no memory of it being as hot as this summer. He's lived in ME for over 35 years (although my wedding day was hot and muggy, ugh. Bad hair). We never had A/C! I only remember a few window fans.

We don't have AC here, which wouldn't be a problem if we didn't face west. But every day around 4 my apt gets brutally hot til about 7 in the summer. Then again, being a Maine girl, I have no tolerance for anything over 75. It's not even the heat, but the damn sun! Does that make sense? I could never do AZ. Nuh-uh. I can't even do the Valley, lol.

St Louis! I spent one summer there and thought I'd die. It's the no body of water thing. At least in Chicago, the lake breeze can stir things up, but in St Louis the air just sits there, heavy, gets stinky...sigh...I'll pray for a coolish few months for you, MoD!

Binah- Yay for cars! That sounds like waay to much effort for food! I used to have to do something similar to get my laundry clean (we moved into a neighborhood in Chicago, not realizing it wasn't zoned for laundrymats, so had to travel elsewhere - my choices were a vagrant-and-bug-ridden "hotel" laundry a few blocks away, or take a bus for a half hour. I took the bus.)..and I didn't even have kids! Good luck with the suit. I wish I could sew.

Dars - Yay job!

We got nothing done yesterday, but I was told by the dad of a birthday friend that I looked pretty, pregnant, which was nice. He used to be our neighbor and hasn't seen us in awhile. It wasn't oogy or anything, just a nice, unexpected compliment from a man -- not my husband (although he sounded surprised, lol).

Speaking of my DH, it was our 10 yr anniversary yesterday. He brought home the most amazing French pastries from a little place downtown he found while trying to hunt down my favorite French tea, which is apparantely, almost impossible to find in LA. WOW. So I had birthday cake AND pastries yesterday! Ooops. Baby liked it, though.

Another night and still no baby! Grrr. Now I am a little irritated. Sigh. If I had wanted drugs I think they would have given me pitocin yesterday to increase the strength of the contractions. NOT that I want pitocin, but crap. Well, today is another day I suppose!

Mm... french tea and pastries sounds so yummy. What is a "French" tea might I ask? A specific brand or type.... I love all things tea!~

Leos - Sorry there's nothing happening in the labor department for you. It should be soon. : Good for you on not getting the pitocin. That would have made it extra painful anyway. Not good. It shouldn't be long, right?

Pom - French pastries and birthday cake sound good to me. I'd go for it! I was totally not hungry for any food in the house yesterday. I ate a bunch of fruit to stave off hunger, but that's all I wanted. I think I had 2 apples, one clementine, one banana, one pear, and a glass of soymilk all day. I guess I should be happy it wasn't cake, but still... Oh wait; I missed the part where you wrote you have pastries because it was your 10th wedding anniversary. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!

Hi everyone! This thread moves so fast...

So the other day I had contractions all evening that were 12 minutes apart - they went away when I went to bed. Yesterday evening they were 11 minutes apart - then went away again... maybe they'll be 10 minutes apart tonight and so on until D-Day. LOL

Who's next ladies???

MF, Leos, is it a race? I'm so bad at betting. Leos seems the obvious choice, but I think MF's uterus may be crafty, lol. On your marks, get set, GO!

The French tea is a brand called Mariage Freres. It comes in beautiful round black tins and the flavors are pretty exotic. The reason being that the French weren't all stuffy and comitted to tea like the English, so they got a wee bit more creative. I think they're the oldest tea house in France? Anyway, the stuff it totally pricey and extravagant and I never buy it for myself. I first found some in SF.

We organized the kitchen stuff today, so that was good. De-clutter. Still meant to paint some touch up, though...we're 2 weeks behind on that!

I've got heart burn. Ick.

Heartburn sucks. The only time I ever get heartburn is when I am pregnant, that is one thing I will be sooooo glad to be done with once the baby comes. Nothing worse than having a great meal and felling it hours later when you are trying to sleep.

LMAO A crafty uterus! I have tears in my eyes from laughing.

Yeah, I am not a betting woman either (cause I ALWAYS lose) but I wouldn't put it past this kid to hang out for another week or more. I am having pretty continuous contractions which are just getting obnoxious but they aren't getting stronger.

Ugh, heartburn. I hate it too. I am about to go pop another pepcid.

I won't be next, LOL. I think this one will come a little early or on time. I just want more birth stories... this junkie needs her birth fix. LOL

Tons of BH contrax this morning. I kept trying to will them to be painful and stronger. Nope.
Ok is this weird? Last night the baby was so, so active, it hasn't been that active in probably a few weeks. It was just constantly moving and kicking and squirming and tumbling around in there (with some nice sharp painful jabs into my cervix). I didn't eat or drink anything different. I don't think it stopped moving for about 2 hours. I was like, hey, if you're uncomfortable in there, you have permission to come out! but I guess not yet....

not having a good pregnancy day...

i woke up at 8:30 when my guy got up to do some errands. i just couldn't get comfortable again but finally dozed back off around 10. woke up at 11:30, right when my guy fell back asleep. d'oh! so i was up and bored.

my hands are practically non-functional...i could hardly brush my teeth this morning. i was getting soooooo hot, so i filled up a bucket of cold water and put my feet in while rubbing some cold water on my belly and arms. i wanted to go to the pool, but it was blazing hot outside and i didn't want to go out there. my back hurt, my tummy hurt, my legs hurt, and i've been getting BH contractions like crazy.

so after a while of my feet in the bucket, i decided i needed to take a bath in cold/warm water. by the time i was finally set in the tub, i just burst into tears . these last couple weeks are really getting to me. i feel like i can't handle it anymore. so my b/f sees me and tries to console me for a while, telling me that baby's not done yet and only needs a little more time in there. so after i calmed down i sat in the tub for an hour and a half just thinkin things over. i'll be so glad when this little one decides they're ready...

Cathy sorry you're having a hard day...sounds like the BH may have been b/c you were so hot (and dehydrated?)...remember to drink lots of water!

Sleeping until 11 sounds heavenly, though....I hope you're taking full advantage.

Did a new thread get started? I'm gonna have to look. DH and I are relaxing. Dust & Dot are having a campout in Dustin's car bed & watching a movie. They have lunchables for tomorrow, then my teenager will bring them to the hospital. DSS gave me a lovely gift for the hospital - a photo frame with a pic of all 3 kids, and left a spot for one of Liam! I cried.

I went into the office today and everyone was like "MY GOD YOU ARE HUGE" - hey thanks :LOL

I can't believe Leo hasn't had the baby yet!!! Come on baby! Quit teasing mama!

Good Luck!!!

Tara - Good luck tomorrow!!!!! I hope you feel well after, and get to hold the babe right away...don't really know how any of it works, but yes, make sure your DH posts PROMPTLY! (((hug)))

IT's so exciting to see all these babies coming...course I'm actually still petrified, but being due at the end of the month, am counting on all you early birds (and those with crafty uteruses /uteri?) to show me how easy and awesome this whole thing is.

OK. Feet puffy. Must go lie down.

Hopefully my baby will come today. Very excited. My water broke a couple of hours ago. So now I'm waiting for contrax. Haven't noticed any, but I had a completely painless birth last time despite being aware of the contrax.

Will let everyone know how it goes.

I have hardly posted at all but i do lurk and read and am so excited to see babies being born!

I'm still officially due around 7/23. Having lots of BH and feeling huge and waddly. So we'll see! Midwife thinks the baby might be trying to go posterior (like my first) so I'm trying to do positions to prevent that. I'm not very swollen at all, just tired and hungry and nesting!
