DH and I haven't had sex since I found out I was pregnant because I haven't felt very good. Last night we had sex around 9 pm and when I went to the bathroom around 11 pm I was bleeding! It was red and it was kind of mucousy. I was so scared and when it hadn't stopped by midnight I called my sister and she talked me out of panicking. I was also having really strong cramps too. I rubbed a ton of progesterone cream on and it made me sleepy so I was able to fall sleep. Today there is just tinges of pink and the cramps are minimal. It was probably just cervix irritation from having sex but I am still really scared. I told DH that we will not be having sex again until I am out of the first tri. I know that sounds extreme but I don't want to risk it. Luckily he agrees. I am going to lay low today and hope and pray that everything is alright.

That is scary!! But I think the fact that it's lessening is a really good sign.I've told dh the same thing. I was spotting for about a week and it really scared me. So, we're waiting until after the first trimester too. Poor dh!!

I had that happen when I was pg with my dd. We had sex at around 10 weeks and I had bright red bleeding afterwards. It scared the heck out of both of us and we won't be having sex during this first trimester either.

Same sort of thing about a week ago, but not bright red blood. More brownish with mucus. I did have a huge tightening type cramp afterward that felt like the cramps I would get after intercorse after the 16th week with my other two. Like a strong contraction. It was weird to feel that so early and really caught me off guard.
Heavenly, I hope everything is alright!

Oh, yeah...with both of my previous pg I had spotting after sex in the early weeks. The first time I totally flipped out and thought for sure something had happened to the baby! My midwife was completely calm when I told her and she was right - everything was fine and it was just from the cervix being bumped. So far this time, I've been too sick to do anything...
Hope you are feeling better this evening - I'm sure all is well with the babe!

Well it spotted off and on all day but more pinky-brownish. There was another bout of red when I was stupid and checked my cervix but I think things are calming down. I am still scared but hopeful that baby is doing just fine.

Shawna - How far along are you? Just curious - I spotted from week 6 - 7 1/2 with this one - bright red. Scared me to death!! I was talking with a doctor friend of mine and she said that progesterone can actually cause spotting. So, while it is helping, it can also scare you!!
My midwife told me - there are at least 25 reasons for spotting in the first trimester. Only one has something to do with miscarraige. That helped me.
Have you called your midwife/doctor? Maybe they can get you in for a quick u/s or blood test to help reassure you.
