Ours is scheduled for a week from today. I'm already excited and we want to know the sex too. I really want to know for sure whether there are one are two so I can get over this twin fantasy.

Mine is this coming Monday, the 27th. We aren't finding out the sex. I am super excited to see this baby and be assured that everything is ok. I have been pretty calm and confident during this pregnancy, but with the u/s so close, I am starting to get jitters that we are going to find out something's wrong.

Mine's the 2nd of July- we won't be told, though, because our local hospital won't tell us. (The senior consultant doesn't believe in it- personally, I think he's just sulking because the homebirth rate is on the rise.)

Mine is on Monday June 27th too and we are finding out the sex if baby is cooperating. I was able to tell with both girls so hopefully this time will be easy to see too. I am also happy that it is in a few days because we leave on vacation next weekend so it will be reassuring to know all is well before we set off.

That just irks me. Its one thing if you did not want to know, but for them to know and not tell you just raises my hackles. It's like they are being paternalistic and treating you like a child, disseminating information as *they* deem it to be necessary. Grrr.

No planned u/s here but I plan to fully live vicariously through you mamas!

Is this (in Britain) due to lots of gender-based abortions within some cultural groups? A family member over there told me this, and that's why they don't tell people. I have no idea if that's the "official" reasoning or their take. I've heard the same approach is also being used or being considered in India?

I had mine at 20 weeks as well, this week. Perinatologist even got a photo of the baby sucking his (!) thumb/finger, which my daughter has to show to everyone coming through our house lately. It was really cute, and my husband is all sentimental now, far more so than I - but he always has been.

And the dates on the ultrasound show me as being due even earlier by three days than I actually am - although he didn't change EDD - it's good to build a little extra leeway into dates, in my mind.

Mine is Tuesday the 28th. Me and DH can't agree whether or not to find out the sex. He's very persistent, but I lost this battle last time around, so I'm more determined to win this time.

Actually, I was a nurse for so many years, I think I'd have to keep my eyes closed to not see for myself. But I'm no expert, I could be wrong.

Is this your only U/S, or do you'all get a bunch? My MW doesn't make us, her back OB kinda wanted one because I've been so sick and lost lots of weight at the beginning. Just wondering.

Legally they cannot withhold any medical information or medical documents.

I had mine last week, at 20w1d. We saw all the parts (well, all the parts we wanted to see--keeping the gender a surprise!), even the legs kicking.

It was a little bit stressful, though, since the tech. wouldn't/couldn't interpret the results. She said I was measuring 18 weeks instead of 20 and for the first time I started to worry that something wasn't right. Everything is fine, it just planted some doubt, yk?

We are not planning an US this time. I had with my 2 others and we found out the sex both times. I thought I would be anxious about skipping it, but I'm already 20+ weeks and am amazingly calm.

I've already had a few u/s (because I'd had an ectopic just a month and a half before) -- the last was at 14 weeks. I'll be going for another sometime in July, but it's not scheduled yet. We won't be finding out the gender. They offered to make a guess at the last one, but we like the element of surprise!

I don't have one until July 29th. I'll be 22 1/2 weeks. We really want to find out the sex because we gave everything away. We have NO clothes for this baby. I want to know if I have to buy pink or blue!! So far, everything has looked really good, so I'm not worried about the health aspect. It is neat to see the babe on screen. We are taking our dd's with us. We are going to make a whole day of it. Hopefully we can do a bit of shopping afterward . . .
