We've lived on some property for a couple of years that is located off a dirt road with no road sign, but according to neighbors and some maps, it has a street name. We're living in a cottage next to an unfinished house that we bought and hope to finish in the future, and we use a post office box for mail in the town where we work.
Now, for a variety of reasons (contractors coming to work on the house, getting material shipped there, emergency services, locating septic lines, and to give ds an address to learn in case he is ever lost
!!) we need to get a street address. Any idea how to go about doing that? We went down the road a couple of miles and saw a house with a house number and mailbox, so I think it can be done. I've heard that we do it through the closest post office, and someone told me you have to go to the county courthouse instead of the post office, so I'm not really sure where to begin.
