LOL... I wore the hospital panties!

Forgot to tell you all and wanted to give it its own thread. Why I have no idea.
My birth kit came with the mesh panties. The midwife left them on the sink for me so I thought "What the heck!" They weren't so bad. They fit. I didn't think they would. I put them on with the hospital pads that were in the kit too. Those do NOT work. How they can be "maternity pads" I have no idea.
I still highly highly HIGHLY recommend getting the Always Plus Size Pads. They're for women who wear a 14 or over (um, that's most of us), and they're also as long as the maternity pad, not to mention thicker and have wings.
So go Proctor and Gamble, it's your birthday too.

Ah pads...
I went out and bought some "really nice" Naturacare pads for post partum. I have used their tampons for years, nice, organicky, non-bleached, hippy tampons. I got the Super-Wing-Having-Heavy-Duty pads. And let me tell you they are the biggest pieces of crap. I've seriously been thinking about returning them, but I can't bring myself to do it yet. They are wafer thin and the sticky back wouldn't cling to toilet paper, let alone panties. I spent some time *really* trying to mash them onto my panties and they stay in place about as well as a paper towel. Good thing I didn't need them for anything more than catching my EPO 'cause I would wake up and they would be rolled up in the sheet at the foot of the bed. I don't know how they can sell them!
What a waste!
So, back to the store and got some nice, bleached, chemically, full of unpronouncable things pads.

Karen, you haven't let up on posting at all!!! I'm impressed!

Alex made me take a spare pair of those mesh underwear things for "later" because they turned him on. :
I got two packages of hospital pads, and I'm too cheap to NOT use them :LOL
They're not the best, but they get the job done!

That's the kind I ended up getting beforehand, I didn't see that they were size 14 until I was home, just saw that they were big and winged! They were better than the other two kinds I tried after those ran out...

I dug the mesh panties. I think they were comfy. At any rate I don't recall them being uncomfy, but that whole area was kind of uncomfy at the time so what do I know.

Emmy that just cracks me up about Alex and the mesh undies And I love those pics of him and your baby btw... so sweet.

I bought 2 pair of those panties when i ordered birth supplies. Nice to just be able to throw them out since you bleed so much at first. I used cloth pads with doublers. No leaks. Course, I just sat on a chux for the first few hours when the heaviest bleeding was going on. It will be nice to finally not have to wear pads for a while. ugh.
Funny about your dh thinking they're hot. :LOL I think my dh is a weirdo b/c he thinks I look good now. He said, "You aren't pregnant anymore and your boobs are awesome!" Yeah, he's about 14. :LOL

Yeah, I've been using regular menstrual pads since the bleeding let up a bit, but at the beginning, I found incontinence pads to be awesome. I had some left over from my first trimester, when I was peeing everytime I sneezed :LOL (Did I tell y'all about the embarrassing time on the front porch with my husband right after I'd gotten up in the morning and hadn't put underwear on yet? He said, "God bless....oh, um...ick." :LOL)

Yeah I wore the mesh underwear for several days too. Of course in the days beforeI put those on, I had a pad and chux between my legs. I guess when you are in bed/not leaving your bedroom and bathroom, it doesn't matter too much.

:LOL I used the mesh underwear at the hospital and boy am I glad I used them all, the price they charged me for the pack of them was outrageous!

I vote for the Always thin overnights, they are very long, but thin and super absorbent. I haven't seen the plus size ones yet, but will have to keep an eye out.

I love the mesh panties. I asked for extras to take home.

OMFG I can't stop laughing!!! I am sorry, I'm actually due in July and just lurking, but this is funny! I would have never thought, if they are the same mesh panties I'm thinking of :LOL

Good to know about which pads are good for PP though, I have my old ones (cloth, not old used ones :LOL) in a box somewhere in the basement and every day I get more and more reluctant to have to dig through everything down there, all those boxes are so heavy

Alright, call me an old granny, but with both births I used those Depends disposable undies. they are kind of stretchy, and youjust pull them up like panties. I stuck two Always pads side by side in there, and you are officially bombproof. No worries about soiled sheets. I slept on a chux for a few days just in case, but I wore those depends things for about a week. Just throw them away, and they rip off down the sides. I actually had two of those mesh panties that the mwife had in her birth kit, but they were what I grabbed while I was pushing and used them for hot compresses!! :LOL I wasnt exactly caring at that point!

PS and i can only tolerate store bought pads for a few days, They eat me alive!! I have to use cloth pads.

Oh, laugh away, I did :LOL
They are the same mesh panties you're thinking of. White, rectangular, flimsy...typical hospital stock. I really don't know what's wrong with him. He has the libido of a 17 year old boy, and some strange tastes :
