My dd 1, age 15, rushed in from school yesterday to tell me about something amazing that occurred in drama class. They all sat around in a circle and took turns standing up and saying an appreciation for every single student in the class. She said there was not a dry eye for miles. She was touched that her fellow students felt the way they did about her, surprised, too, I guess. She was impressed that the boys even expressed warm fuzzy feelings.
It was wonderful to see her feeling so good about her school, her peers. She has been through a rough year and a half for her, changing schools, losing friends through being ostracized (geez, love THAT stuff - not), moving. She was worried about finding her place in this new school and I do believe it has surpassed her expectations.
I'm just so glad she is having positive, life affirming experiences. It gives me hope there will be healthy teens turning into healthy adults.
Any other good teen stories out there?
Peace,
