I'm back from the midwest...

Actually had a very pleasant trip! My colleagues that I was traveling with are a barrel of laughs, so we really had a great time. The meetings were good too - it ended up being critical that we were there just because we were able to find out about another meeting coming up (man, the week of 7/11 is going to just stink for me!), even though a lot of the sessions were boring.

I just feel like I spent 3 days eating, and that was kind of gross. I just looked at my thighs in the lovely hotel flourescent lighting and felt HUGE. Yuck! Of course, I evidently do look quite fat because a couple of people asked, um, so are you...pregnant? (No, I just got really sloppy and decided to wear clingy shirts to show off my big belly and big butt).

The Turkey has definitely started moving around, so that is nice. I started taking the iron but I don't feel a ton more energtic yet. I still am really beat by the end of the day and getting horrible headaches every day. And for some reason I have gotten myself really paranoid about GD, even though I have no reason to. I guess since I have put on this much weight, I'm just feeling nervous that I'm going to have it, but I see my MW next on 7/13 so I'm sure we can talk about it then. I don't want to sound like a loon though!

Its' really hard on all of us when I have to travel. DH does ok, but it means he gets no break from Sam unless my dad can see him during the day or if he can find SIL and dig her out from whatever rock she is currently under. (She flaked again today. It stinks). And Sam gets bummed and then is super demanding of all of my attention the minute I walk in the door. They always have fun together, but it is tough. And since I'm pregnant and not having tons of energy now at night, it's hard because DH and I can't find the time to reconnect. I may have a day trip next week, which is ok, but then the week of the 11th I'm gone 3 out of 5 nights, and that is going to be a big bummer.

Glad you had a nice trip.

My week of Jul 11 and the following week are going to be crazy too. I'm taking two week-long classes to renew my teaching license. Dh will have dd the first week and my mom will help out the next.

I've never been away from her that much, but I think she'll do fine. We're even talking about an overnight at Nana's at the end of the second week. I'm really nervous about that!

Turning this in a different direction but...have you done an overnight before? I LOVE when I can get my folks to take Sam for a night!

Ooh, the overnights! DS goes to Gramma's house every now and then for an overnight and does pretty well with her. He looks forward to it and DH and I enjoy it so much. Not having to worry about bedtime and also getting to sleep in! (MIL lives 45 mins away though, so its a long drive to drop off and pick up DS.)

You reminded me that we should take advantage the overnights while we can because once the babe comes, it'll be a long time before DH and I are alone in the house for a whole night!

I know! I can't even imagine how we'll get a day off when the Turkey is older because my parents are getting older and tired and I can't imagine them handling two kids. They used to take Sam for a few hours even when he was 1.5 and he did great with them. Well, we shall see!
