Progesterone?

Thread Starter
I went for my first appt. on Tuesday. This was a brand new doctor and I have to say I was very happy with everyone I came in contact with. I saw the CNM and she was wonderful. She even gave me a quick peek at the babe via u/s and that put my mind at ease. I've had 3 miscarriages (1 before my son and 2 since) and she recommended I take 100 mg of progesterone through week 13. I'm not opposed and I started taking it that morning. I feel okay on it-it seems that maybe my fatigue has increased. Anyone have any experiences with progesterone? I know that it can be controversial as to whether it actually makes a difference or not, but as long as it doesn't hurt baby I'm not opposed. Just curious about anyone else's thoughts.

Did they actually test your progesterone? It probably won't be accurate now that you're taking the supplements.

I've had 2 m/c and have had my hcg and prog tested twice. Hcg went up nicely, prog didn't. at 13dpo it ws 12.5, at 6 weeks only 14.1 (they want it to be over 15 during the luteal phase, and like 20-40 by 4-6 weeks) I started on suppositories on Tuesday, 200mg 2x a day. Prometrium inserted vaginally (yuck)
I also have a luteal phase defect and had trouble conceiving, had my prog. tested while TTC and it was extra low (4.5). I was not taking prog while TTC (looking for a new doc to prescribe it) and frankly a little shocked I was able to conceive.

It does seem to make me feel a little more achy, tired, and sick But not bad. I'm supposed to continue until 10 weeks LMP.

I'm taking progesterone for the first time this pregnancy, and have been taking it for 3 weeks (I'm 8w2d). I've never felt so sick, moody, tired and (TMI alert!) constipated, but it all seems to be worth it because my levels are where they're supposed to be.

I've done lots of research and haven't seen any tangible evidence of harm to the baby...but do know that I would have miscarried without it.

Good luck!
