im excited and wanted to share.. im 20 weeks today! it feels like a huge milestone. i have my next midwife appointment on tuesady and im super excited to try listening to this little sprout with the fetascope. "she" has been kicking around lots, so i know everything is amazing in there, but im looking forward to hear the thump thump of her little heart!

im saying "her" since that is the feeling i get, maybe ill be surprised, but i refered to my son as a "he" all along and indeed he was.

how are all you other 20 week mommas and babies doing?

I'll be 20w on Tuesday and really looking forward to the halfway point. Seems like it will help me gear up for the loooong hoooootttt summer we are about to go through.

My belly popped BIG TIME last week and I am even having to watch for pregnancy sway back and waddle already. It starts pretty high up, even though my fundus is only just above my belly button. So I guess a lot of "innards" are being pushed up.

Babe is moving a lot, and I am even feeling some kicks this week. Before that it was mostly rolls and flips and flutters.

And a new pregnancy symptom (for me) is heartburn. Must have to do with the fact that this belly starts so high.

I was 20 weeks last Monday, and my belly literally popped overnight- I was working a night shift and at the time and thought it was bloating! But the belly has stayed- I'm finally starting to look pregnant.

Lots of more distinctive kicks now too- sometimes a series of big thumps after meals, instead of just the little rolls and flutters. I tried to listen for the heartbeat with my stethoscope a few days ago (I remember hearing my younger sister's hb with our fisher price stethoscope when my mum was pregnant), but only heard a big whoosh and thump from a kick.

Halfway there... it blows my mind!

(Off topic- MamaFern, who is your midwife? I'm in Vancouver, too.)

I'm there, too, just a few days beyond 20 wks. The biggest thing for me is that I finally have my appetitie back and now I can go back to my usual healthy diet. I was feelling so guilty that for the last few months I wasn't eating too much, having trouble eating protein and eating way more flour products that usual. I've drank more than 1/2 gallon of my super healthy raw milk in the last two days, and have been chowing on our CSA veggies. And can eat burgers and pure protein again. Plan to go back on my supplements, too, specifically Cod Liver Oil. What a relief.

I am celebrating by ordering some custon NB longies from a WAHM -- she sounds like she really knows what she is doing -- and we registered for our cloth diapers.

Things are looking up!

Since my EDD was moved up ... I'll be 20 weeks on Tuesday.

Gosh my back is really feeling it, I could barely walk this morning (I'm sure 2 little 2 yo feet in my back all night didn't help).

I'm more than popped, this is my 3rd (also have 01 and 03 babies) and boy am I huge this time. Ugh. I'm trying to NOT let it get the best of me but it's hard.

I'm sooo jealous of you 20 week mamas. I just turned 19 weeks, 47.5% of the way there. Ugh!

It is such a BIG milestone.
