I'm a little worried now

I went in yesterday for an u/s and the tech saw a yolk sac, but not a heartbeat. My LMP was 5/15 (a sun, but I thought I ovulated on thurs, June 2, although the u/s should the CL on the opposite side that was achy, so I think I was wrong), so I'm in week 5. The tech is a really good one that really knows what she is doing. She didn't show me the u/s, which is a bad sign, but she also said the vag u/s showed a sac size consistent with a slightly later ovulation and it's right on the edge of showing the hb. She made another appt for next Thurs. Originally, she wanted an appt when I was definitely 6 weeks, but we did it yesterday because she's on vaca next week.

So, of course I'm nervous. Two m/c ago it happened at the 6ish wk mark (didn't find out until 12 wks).

Sara - I can understsand why that would be scary!! I don't know if this will help, but when I went in at six weeks, my midwife told me that we may not see a heartbeat yet. It sounds like you were just too early to see one. Is there anywhere you could get another one before your midwife comes back from vacation? The waiting is so hard.

That can be so hard. : for you right now while you wait.

I think I might have ovulated late this time too. I am hoping for a sonogram on Monday afternoon to confirm dates and hopefully see a heartbeat. According to LMP I was 6 weeks Thursday.

I have heard that you shouldnt do an u/s before 6 weeks, because you cant see a heartbeat.
I had one at 7 weeks last time and we saw it, so I knew I wouldnt go in before then so if we didnt see one it wouldnt make me worry more.
I am sure it is just too early!

I went to the ER last Saturday night cause of my pancreas. They did an US while I was there. I was less than 5 weeks, and they said there was nothing there in the uterus, but no signs of Ectopic. They did the ultrasound cause Dr thought my pain was from the PG not my pancreas, but showed him anyways...lol

The tech told me, that sometimes a day makes a difference. He has done US on woman one day and seen nothing but a sac and 24 hours later saw more. He said the earlier the US is done the more nervous it can make a mom, cause unless hse knows the exact date and time she O'd, all it does is prove that in the begining of life our little ones may take a few extra days to make themselves known. He was a really great guy. He showed me everything during the US and just kept saying, its still early, it doesnt mean anything if we cant find anything now.

I go in for my US with my Ob the day after yours....technically I will be 7 weeks, the following day (saturday) but my O date puts me back several days.

Good luck!

When I had an u/s at 5w6d, they couldn't see a heartbeat yet. When I went back at 7w6d, there was one. I've had a m/c myself and I totally understand your fears. I'd ask for another u/s in a week just to put your mind at ease!

Thanks so much. I feel much better today. I think part of what worried me was that even though I thought I ovulated late, when I went in for the preg test at 5 weeks after my LMP, it was a really strong positive. But, it would be too early regardless. I'm going to try to relax and focus positive energy on the little bitty until Thursday. I really appreciate your replies -- they relieve a lot of my anxiety.

5-6 weeks is pretty early for a h/b

My RE is not scheduling a u/s until I am 7 weeks, or 35 days (5 weeks) from conception.

Try not to worry too much!
