That's crazy! Sounds like you did a great job of birthing and keeping in control of the situation. Kudos to you and your DH. And congrats on Schuyler!

What an amazing birth story, bama. I am really impressed with how well you handled the pushing contractions--telling dh what to do inbetween them. Amazing.

Your dh did an amazing job, as well! You guys are a great team

ive been thinking alot about you this week, as a emergency homebirth is a bit of a worry for me (and my partner) as we both faint watching ER....so i wondered how you knew what to do...i think i would say we need to cut the cord right away or something stupid ... i think your so brave! AND so glad you had the experience of a lifetime.

It was absolutely fantastic, and I wouldn't change it. On a sidenote, my perineal tear hasn't healed after all. It fooled me cause it quit hurting!

Thanks everybody, and yes, dh and I do make a great team. We just didn't know it til the birth! Or maybe we didn't know it so well, I just cant' stop bragging on him.

Fortunately I have had exposure to natural birth, and have studied midwifery and homebirth for years, so I did have some knowledge of what to do. It was like I midwifed my own birth! It was really cool.

And Swedemom, if the baby comes that fast, those births are usually the easiest and healthiest. Just leave stuff alone and it'll be fine!
