Fun Website swap!

Hi all!

This is ridiculous--I'm only four weeks along and already cruising the web for pregnancy calendars, week-by-week fetal development, and great name pages. I found a few, and thought I'd share:

(none of these require registration or email address sharing)

1. http://www.behindthename.com/
The BEST name site I've worked with (used it for my twins)--shows popularity of the names over the past 100 years, and has a goofy/fun random name generator

2. http://www.pregnancy.org/pregnancycalendar/
Shows you your pregnancy, day by day, month by month. Lots of real photos of the fetus developing (even early ones). Very cool site--just wish I could figure out how to print up the calendar!

3. http://www.mdadvice.com/library/urpreg/wbw.htm
If you're like me and enjoy all the little details of baby's development, this one's a keeper. Very science-based, and very complete. Love it!

4. http://www.ivillage.co.uk/pregnancya...168991,00.html
If one week-by-week development calendar isn't enough, here's another one!

Anyone else have fun websites to share?

Hi. I'm still trying to enjoy the TTC phase, but had to pop in to share this amazing baby name website:

Baby Name Wizard

Enjoy.

Here's another good one....I'm not familiar with the rest of the website, but I like their due date calculator (you can calculate it by ovulation date if you used OPKs or temp. charting, and then you get a more accurate due date):

Happy Surfing!

You've got to see this!!!!!

http://www.pregnancy.org/pregnancy/f...ent1.php#week5

This is the best site I've found online for pictures (real ones!) of the baby during each week of pregnancy. The picture of the week 7 baby foot is *so* cute.... Week 5 isn't so pretty, but next week our babies start looking like babies! Woo-hoo!

I wish I would have known about this site during my first pregnancy!

Have fun!

Elisabeth, where did you get your pg ticker? I'd love to get one, too!

I get confused with some of those websites - are they talking weeks past conception or weeks past missed period?

This isn't a website, but a fabulous book with wonderful pictures - From Conception to Birth. I highly recommend it

Hi Kate, thanks!

The preg. ticker is just something you type into your sig line and change every week according to how far along you are. I copied it from someone a couple of months ahead of us--I'm sure she wouldn't mind more people using her great idea!

Lisa~

That is confusing, isn't it. Almost every source measures it from weeks past your LMP (last menstrual period). Any source that talks about a 40 week pregnancy is using the LMP date. For some more rare sources (like Dr. Sears' pregnancy book) they go from ovulation, and talk about pregnancy being 38 weeks. Hope that helps!

Thanks, Elisabeth! That's a really creative idea! I'll see if I can figure out how to put it in my siggie....I'm kinda technically challenged sometimes. :LOL
