my water broke!- UPDATE: Asa is born!

Just like with my daughter, I was lying in bed early this morning and felt a little trickle, just big enough to wonder if it was IT.

Except with her, I was in hard labor an hour later, and this time I'm lounging around with dh and eating a LOT!

It's not too hot, and the high today is only supposed to be 83...
The house is clean, dd's at school (but mom will get her in the blink of an eye when we're ready)
Life is good!

Good luck, Pepper!
Maybe next time I come back online we'll have tandem stories to post.

My labor with my first was fast and furious after my water breaking. With my 2nd, it was lesiurely and realxed. Hopefully, you'll find yourself in terrific labor soon!

Thanks!

I was having some contractions this morning (my water broke at 5:45 am)
but now... nothing.
I just took a good shower and tried some nipple stim... (I don't want to overdo that- nothing that might make them sore for later!!)

any thoughts?

My mw has said to rest, but also wants me to take my temperature periodically since we didn't do the Group B Strep swab-test.
A mixed message, sort of, of rest, but try to go into labor soon?

It's raining now, and very lovely. I'm so grateful.

I'd love to labor in the rain...it sounds like perfect laboring weather. If you can, open up a window when the surges get stronger and you crave the cooler air, the rain tapping might be a good focal point. We live on the SF Bay and have fog every morning from the ocean which I *love* and I'm hoping that I get to labor in it...

Anyway. ramlah, I think I would be focusing on eating small meals to keep your energy up and resting as much as possible. Maybe some RRL tea for your uterus. ?

Yay!!!
Good luck!!!
Seems like we go two at a time around here so maybe there will be tandem stories or maybe more???
Here's to a wonderful labor!

I'm back! again!

My midwife just left me with some Caulophyllum 200c, and after one dose, the contractions are picking up! I was glad she came and checked on the babe's position- for a while there I got paranoid that we'd gone transverse. Looks like s/he just switched to face my left hip after months of facing my right hip! It still seemed like there was a butt on my left, but then I'd get a kick right in the middle of the firm spot- very strange.

Dh is making some dinner, dd is still out visiting friends with my mom...

After the pounding intensity of DD's birth, I never expected to be one of those people who had a chance to check in online during labor- it's fun!

The sun just came out, just a while before it'll duck behind the mountain. It's still a great temperature, and everything's sparkling from the day's rain....

Thinking of you! Can't wait to hear about our newest arrival!

Hi Ramlah, I'm assuming we're in different parts of Vermont! Where are you? All I've been doing is stewing (literally) about the 100+ temps and high humidity!!

I hope you're laboring well or better yet, holding your little one now!! HUGS!! Kitty

nak :)

We had a great birth!

Our son Asa was born in the tub in our living room as the church bells chimed 6:00 am on June 29th.

9lb, 4oz, 15 1/2" head, and NO tearing! I'm not even sore!

Will add more later...

congrats Pepper!
