This is going to be a long explanation -- bear with me!!! I borrowed a book about 2 years ago from an acqaintance that my dds and I just LOVED!! Unfortunately, being a block head
I didn't write down the title or the author....I now want to find that book again and have it as my own......I am hoping it sounds familiar to someone lurking here and you can help me -- I know this is a tall order -- not knowing the title or the author, but I will try a brief description of the book and see if it sounds familiar to anyone.....
Okay - I think it was a 1960's-70's circa book....it was hard back, red....the story was a wonderfully imaginative story -- it had a brother and sister who would go over to visit a neighber of their's (I think a teacher, professor, etc) and he would go into this tale....it was just so incredibly imaginative and great for my kinds to imagine what the things looked like that he described. The kids in the story weren't quite sure if what the man was talking about was real or just in his imagination....there were far off places and wild "beasts", etc....very colorful descriptions......I think the name of the book was also the name of a "animal" that was found in the last chapter of the book.....I also think there was a "W" somewhere in the title.....
I know this is practically impossible with what I have given - but I hope this story sounds somewhat familiar to someone and can help me locate it!! BTW -- I have asked at my local library and got nowhere!!!
Please help if you can!!!
