information on my 12 month old. I just want a book that speaks about his development this next year. I would also like help with my parenting....what he can/cannot understand.....etc. Anyone know of a good book.....I am sick of buying useless baby books!!

My mom gave me this for Christmas and I absolutely love it. Gorgeous illustrations and very sweet ideas inside. Plus it's just structured enough so that I can be creative about what I include...

This is the prettiest carrier, and fit my shoulders and figure (at 5'6") much better than the Ergo. I got it when my daughter was about nine months, two years ago - it doesn't appear to have...

This potty is great - excellent value & performance! (plus it's cute!) My 9 month old DS took to it right away. He is a big boy (30 in. tall - feet not quite on floor - & 27 lbs.) and this is...

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

I highly reccommend Dr Sears' books. (see more at www.askDrSears.com ) The Baby Book is one written for up to age two, and even though you are halfway there I still think it would be a valuable resource.
I am sure you will get many more good suggestions here !

SOrry, but I would also recommend the BaBy Book by Dr Sears. It really helped me when it came to parenting Gabe. It's the only parenting book I refer to again and again.

Yep, The Baby Book by Dr. Sears is AWESOME!!!! Otherwise, I would recommend The Dicipline Book by Dr. Sears or The Successful Child by Dr. Sears which is like The Baby Book but will go up to age ten. But The Baby Book is good to have also!
Blessings on your mothering journey!

All Sears books...YES YES YES!!!!!!! They are informative, give you "permission" to trust your instincts, are gentle and make me feel GOOD about being a mama!!! And I give him more credibility because he has 8 kids!!!!
Also here are two oldies but goodies that I am re-reading. they don't offer specific "how-to's" but their tones inspire us to be better gentler parents/nurturers:
"Spiritual Parenting" by Hugh & Gayle Prather
"Whole Child/Whole Parent" by Polly Berrien Berends
Actually, both books do offer some specifics!
