O happy day!

Just got a call from our public school - Sam got into the pre-k program! YAY! It's not like he had to test to get in or anything, but pre-k in the public schools is not guaranteed admission (kindergarten is), so we didn't know if it was going to be a lottery, or first-come first-served, or if there was going to be an issue because he will be the youngest in the class etc etc, but we finally heard from the school and he is in! He is going to be so excited. So he starts in Sept and it is the afternoon session, so he'll be able to get into a nice rhythm and make some friends before the Turkey arrives, so that will be awesome. I am so thrilled. Now I just have to figure out if he'll still be able to do his gymnastics class during the week if he has to be at school in the afternoon. I'm guessing no, but we shall see.

YIPPEE!

I can't believe I am the mommy of a school boy! And that I'm about to have another one!

(I swear I just aged like 5 years in the last 5 minutes...)

Congrats to you both! It sounds like he will have so much fun! And its great that its half days, so its not too overwhelming for him.

We are in the process of trying to get Ben into the special needs preschool. Normal pre-K is guaranteed in our state, but I dont think he will do well with the number of kids (plus its FT, M-F, regular school day length). So hopefully I will be posting a happy note soon too!

It really blows me away when I look at ben and see how big he is. I still think of him as a chubby 16 month old toddler half the time.
