What was the VERY FIRST sign that you were pregnant? - Page 3

sinus congestion & runny nose. one day, after two weeks of that, i felt like puking after breakfast, so i tested.

i thought i had a cold that just wouldn't go away - and it turned out to be congestion and a runny nose that stayed for 40 weeks, 3 days.

first - didn't really have much in the way of symptoms, but the pregnancy ended early, so that could be why.

second - i knew the day i conceived. while doing the deed. i did a quick calculation in my head and just KNEW i'd get pregnant (ah, romance :LOL ). i remember a little bit of cramping before AF was due, then the smells...

of course now, after reading everyone's responses, i'm getting my hopes up that AF due 7/13 won't show

:LOL my AF is due the same day!

Anyway... I don't think I'm pregnant. I was just wondering, and thought this thread would get good responses - which it did

p.s. sohj shhhhh if you come over on Mon bc I don't want dh to get all riled up... this was just a hypothetical thread, and he doesn't know about it (the thread) anyway.

I think it's your body starting to produce the mucus plug.

small hijack..

here's what i've got so far...

cramping, like AF is getting ready. then that mucousy/wet panty thing like AF is here, but no, just wet. little bit of dizziness, some nausea, slight shortness of breath, a very "full" feeling. pants/skirts are tight. this has been going on for about 3/4 days, gradually increasing.

going off of all this (which, BTW, none of this is normal cycle behavior for me), i'm guessing i'm preg. what do you ladies think?

Strange twinges in my lower abdominal area.
Chapped lips
burping way more than normal

I think those were the main 'before I knew' symptoms. I found out 14dpo though... so after that I felt fatigue and a few weeks later I felt morning sickness.

couldn't drink coffee all of a sudden

I woke up to pee in the middle of the night about 4 days after I concieved. I never woke up in the night. It continued (often 3 or 4 times a night) until I delivered.

Aside from deep intuitive knowledge that I was now plural?

Cramps. Bad, bad uterine cramps that rival my endo-style period cramps. It felt like I was having a HORRIBLE period but I'm not bleeding.
I've been pregnant 6 times and the two viable pregnancies I've had so far I had the horrific cramping, it lasts throughout the first trimester.

question ... why would one be burpy/gassy in the first days after conception?
implantation spotting & cervical mucus

I had no desire to drink, which is weird for me. I normally like wine with dinner and to go out with friends ect. but, all of a sudden it wasn't appealing. This prompted me to take a pregnancy test. It was positive, a complete surprise. Two months later I found out that I was having twins. :LOL

This is my third pg and with every one I should have known the minute I fell asleep on the couch. But I didn't know. With this one and my last, I knew for sure when I rolled over in bed and had a "catch" in my side-like a muscle pull, almost. Both times, I immediately got up and ran for a test. Too early both times. That was probably only a week post O.

ok... to answer my OP:

my first pregnancy I didn't feel anything until a couple of weeks after I tested (at around 12-14 dpo)... and then all of a sudden EVERYTHING smelled bad - even smelling the open refrigerator door from across the room - and NOTHING was edible. I ate practically nothing for three months. I had the worst food aversion I know of any anecdotes I've heard about MS.

My 2nd pregnancy only lasted 7 weeks, but even before I knew I was craving lots and lots of coffee and chocolate. weird! The pregnancy didn't ever progress to MS, bc it ended early.

still wondering why the early days of pregnancy might cause a lot of burping

Oh my gosh! I've been feeling that too! It's been hard for me to find a way to stretch too, cause of that "catch". (Finally figured out I can do it on my side, instead of my back.) So glad to hear at least someone else has that! Makes me feel more normal.
