Fully retractable and still in diapers

Doesn't sound like much of a dillemna, but I wonder if the "rule" about not retracting to clean still applies, especially when ds has a bad poopy diaper.

FTR, we are about to go on vacation for a few weeks, then when we return, we'll start potty training ds.

My 2yo is retractile and in dipes and I never retract to clean - I figure I never used a teeny little douche and a q-tip to clean out my daughters. They got wiped down well and then took baths for the rest.

The penis and the vulva/vagina are designed to be self-cleaning. I think wiping the outside surfaces is plenty. Anything else will get washed off in the normal course of bathing.

I do a little swish in the bathtub when my son has an extremely poopy diaper.

Do you still have your postpartum bottle that you used to spray yourself off with? Perhaps use that to gently spray off the offending poo with just warm water.
